Morning, everyone. . .
Today is my church job followed by the gym and the steam room. I am having a very hard time stress-wise right now. I've stepped up to be put in charge of the strike pay team at the union and I knew it was a huge, stressful job, but underestimated how huge and how stressful.
I feel as if I'm working disaster relief, and instead of thanking me for food and shelter (or in this case, money) people are just yelling at me for causing the hurricane. I worked all day yesterday answering emails (someone posted my PERSONAL email on a listserv. . .) and trying to explain to people that I was doing a lot of mopping up, and was working very hard to fix things. . . This is after in three days I managed to streamline, and catch up enough so that the paychecks went out first thing Friday morning for the first time ever.
The strike is now in day 32 (!) and emotions are running very, very high. I really want to make sure that everyone gets paid what they deserve as quickly as possible, but even with 15 people working with me, a lot of people still have to be more patient.
Also, something happened to my motorized-self-cleaning litterbox, and I didn't discover it until after my boycat peed all over the sofa. I really wish he could talk sometimes. . .
Sorry, rant over. . .
Water, vits, elliptical/weights, steam room and no more email checking for the rest of the day!
Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:

Sorry about your litter box!
Today I've got to hit the gym and STICK to my calories like white on rice! I went out to eat for lunch...which would have been ok...until I went out to eat for dinner! Chips, dip, hot wings, and a side salad that should have been my main meal! Oh yeah...there was a 1,000 calorie pretzel in there yesterday too!
Needless to say the scale was up a little bit this morning...but not to bad.
I also have to write a could essays and do an exam for my Ethics class...thankfully the exam is multiple choice and I can take it as many times as I want from now until Monday at Midnight so I'm not worried about it.
Well...I've got to go log in the rest of my food for today and get some homework done!0 -
Hey lady, box stinks! If the kitties could talk, mine would say "Hold Me" - right after he checked out the human toilet.
Should be "brown on rice", right Renae?
I got to the gym yesterday and did elliptical and walking. I think I needed to get out of the house to feel better. For those that don't know: In a cruel twist of irony, I'm allergic to cats - even after 5 years of allergy shots. So I needed to leave the house to breathe better. I'll even out in a few weeks, but every time I leave for more than a few days, my allergies flare up. I was down a level on the elliptical, so I need to push again. 8 days and I start atrophying. Today is yoga and hoping for a bike ride.
Have a great workout today!0 -
Oh, and V - my philosophy: when we are sick, we appreciate what it is like to feel well; sometimes, we are forced to do someone's job to appreciate our own.
I felt that yesterday when I was running the animal shelter - I got all stressed after getting in an argument with someone, not having things go my way, and talking to people about surrendering their animals.0 -
V, I'm sorry your job is so stressful now and your cat box broke! I tried not to get too involved in your post because I am not suppose to stress. I'm just teasing. My cat box is broke too, but mine's not electronic. Since I am pregnant, no ore changing the cat box! Yipee! But it's my husband's job and he hates it so it stinks pretty bad right now. He needs to change it today!
Renae, I hope your exam goes well!
Mary, I am thinking Alex is allergic to cats as well. When we got back from San Antonio he got sick, but no one else has. I think it's allergies, so his probably flares up after being gone a few days like yours does.
My goals today: I have to start logging every bite that goes in my mouth to give to the midwife in a week. You think that would be easy since I log my food religiously, right? Uh, yeah sure whatever you think! I haven't done that in a long time. :blushing: And of course I am going to clean up my eating starting today! I've been binging on chocolate kisses this week. They are leaving the house tomorrow!
My husband went to church and a lady at the church is going to try to set up getting meals brought to us, which is great, but I don't get to tell our friends I'm pregnant and see their reactions. My husband or our lady friend gets to do that. :ohwell: I wanted to go this morning but I am starting to see that I can't do much at all without feeling pain. There's a ladies dessert I signed up to go to tomorrow night. I sure hope I can go! If I can't then at least I won't have to worry about stuffing my face right? Sorry, went off on a ramble. Back to goals: journal food, drink all my water, rest.
I hope you all have a good day!

Update:
I've fixed both the catbox and my attitude (exercise is magical for that).
I can just do my best.:flowerforyou:0 -
Hi everyone. Sorry I keep disappearing. I was working so much last week (including yesterday) and was only able to get to the gym once. I also failed at avoiding sweets - I didn't go shopping last weekend so I didn't have my normal breakfasts and healthy snacks during the day, and also didn't seem to get enough sleep. So I didn't eat anything (other than coffee) until 1pm or later and then had junk. That is exactly how I gained weight in the first place!
It sounds like last week was a tough one for a lot of us. Vivia, I'm sorry that the strike is still dragging on. I know just what you mean about the introvert's curse! I just got back from a work-related holiday brunch, and I am just sapped! MM, I know you're bummed to be off the pushup plan for a while - but it sounds like you are doing just what you need to do in terms of taking it easy. I'll try and make you proud!Karen, so sorry to hear about your mom. Renae, are you at Fort Riley in Kansas? My brother-in-law and his family are there as well. Mary, that's so unfair about your allergies! Are your cats toilet trained? Impressive!
What are all of your goals for this week? Mine are the same as last week - actually get to the gym 3 times (or try the cardio dance videos that I got from Netflix), drink water, and stay away from the sweets. I bought a bunch of fruit at the store today so that should help. Take care of yourselves! :flowerforyou:0 -
Yeah...I call it my black hole though  We've tried to get orders for other places and three other times we almost had them in had...yet we're still here!0

Hi all, well sounds like everyone's week has been challenging. So all take a couple of deep breaths and exhale slowly. Well it works for me lol! I must be the last one to post again today. No news from the specialist on my mom. Decided I had better finish what I was doing up here before I have to travel to her place, which is only 3 hours away really.
My hubby and I went and cut down our christmas tree and literally dragged it home. So there is my exercise for today.Of course it's not up yet, but that is an exercise in itself. lol Now I am making him(I just know this is going to bite me in the tuckus) oatmeal raisin cookies. He's been so nice about not wanting to make me bake him any snacks for so long and I know they are his favorites. He's gone right now so it will be a surprise.
I want to wish everyone a healthy happy week ahead, with lots of willpower to withstand all the goodies that are put in your way. See you again soon.
Today's goal, not to eat more than 1 oatmeal raisin cookie:bigsmile:
already have my waters in and my salad for lunch
get some more exercise in by walking on the treadmill.0 -
Are your cats toilet trained? Impressive!
My cats are only trained to play in the toilet :laugh:0 -

Sounds like mine! We have to shut the lids or he'll drink out of them! My dogs don't even drink out of the toilet...they will wine and bark if their bowl is empty!0 -
I tried to toilet-train my cats.
I don't recommend it. :noway:0 -
Ha, OK - I was going to be really impressed if your cats were toilet-trained!
At least you guys aren't alone:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49jKeGyUCJE
This one made me laugh, too:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unFtwEjpKuY
Renae, I don't think my sis-in-law is super thrilled to be there either.0
