I just calculated the nurition info for the stuff I just baked and my heart stopped. How can it be soo high? How am I gonna eat some and not make it turn out to be half my cals for the day?
Mom's not really supportive. She keeps telling me to not worry about my wieght for the season but how can I have fun? One cookie is 200 cals!?!?!?!
What shall I do?

I really don't have a sweet tooth, I just thought they were cute... But I bought mini cookie cutters. They are about 1"x1.5" little christmas shapes. Reduce the size of the cookie and then only have 1. :bigsmile:0

unfortunatly they are mostly bars.... but I guess i'll follow the just one thing then0

Could always try cutting a this slice of everything - that way, you'll not be feelnig like you're going without :bigsmile:0 -
When I bake, I have a piece, then get the rest away from me as quickly as possible. Bring it to work, tell hubby/junior to gobble it up. OR! Best solution: Wrap a few up and make little Christmas presents. You show people that you care AND you get the stuff out of the way.
Have you ever considered altering your recipes a bit to make them healthier? Like, subbing some of the oil for applesauce, etc.0 -
I didn't really make them... Dad just appeared and handed me a plate and said " I made some baking....try some"
I was upposed to help Dad but he did them without me:sad:0 -
Try cooking light recipes. They have dessert too and they are a little lower calories.
Not much lower, but anything helps!
I'm trying one tonight. Just for around the house snacks, but I'll report back if they are yummy.0 -

~~~~~sneaks up, with lil devil on your shoulder....whispers"go ahead and eat the whole plate of cookies!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~You CAUGHT me 25 pounds GONE!!! Yeah YOU!!!
Now really about the cookies............freeze them! My friend does this with her moms Christmas cookies and they last all year. Cut them into small servings, wrap with saran wrap and put them in a glad lock or tupperware container. Then when you want one you will have to take it out, unfreeze it and then can eat it ....if you still want to!!0 -
Only one problem........they taste better frozen! I know from previous years experience... I was a naughty little girl.. sneaking cookies all the time0
hey maybe it just me but if you feel this bad about thinking about eating it, how do you think you will feel if you actually eat it. Find a subsitute....
Today I made gingerbread soda cake! Soooo yummy. We used Coke Zero instead of eggs and oil, so the mix was just a paltry 150 calories a slice. Topped it with a dollop of nonfat vanilla yogurt and experienced a taste of heaven. Or maybe hell, because it was frickin spicy. Delicious!
I'm so happy I found MFP. It's made me realize that I can enjoy sweets and yummies, in moderation, without feeling the least bit guilty. At the same time, sweets and yummies to me are also things such as squash, apples, and cinnamon-sprinkled carrots. So it's a nice balance.
Though I think my mom wanted to slap me when she asked what I ate to have lost so much weight while at college. I replied "Well, I eat dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate..." "A CHOCOLATE diet?!" My hole dug further when I replied "Well I have to have SOMETHING at night after dinner. It's just not right otherwise!" I still don't think she realizes that when I say chocolate, I mean a small piece of ultra dark Dagoba, not a Snickers bar.
The point is, don't deprive. Just moderation! I've found that if I plan on baking something, I automatically make allotments for it. Nothing as silly as skipping a meal, but I might shave a teensy bit off each meal to give me a bit of wiggle room. Usually it comes out of the starches. Or better yet, I'll just run an extra 10 minutes on the treadmill. Problem solved!0
