okay--so, around my small little town in Texas, everywhere I go I keep seeing people walking around with these clear plastic cups with a lid and straw. some are really cute with initials on them, or pics, etc. but I keep thinking what the heck is the deal with these?? I always simply use a water bottle and refill it over and over again until it is worn out. why would I want another cup to have to wash??
well, I got really tired of feeling uncool because I did not have one so I went and bought me one yesterday and brought it to work today..........HOLY MOLY!!!! what a difference it has made in my water consumption. by 1:30 pm my time, I already had downed 100 ounces!!!!! and now I am sitting at about 130 ounces of water, and it is only 2:10pm!
anyway--this is meant to give a laugh but in case there are other small town folks or anyone else wondering what this epidemic is all about, now you know!!!!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous and fit week!!

Ha ha. I'm addicted to those too. Usually I just put my iced coffee in them in the morning. but I suppose they'd work for water too.0

I have three of those cups! I keep one on my desk and the other two at home. They are great for tracking your water intake! Glad you found a big city perk to enjoy!0

I was so blessed that a friend had bought me one as a gift. I love it! People at the gym look at me like I'm crazy because they all have big water bottles and I have this little neon pink cup! lol0

Cute. I saw some at lunch but did not buy one...I am still filling my lulu lemon water bottle....:drinker:0

You mean the Tervis Tumblers? I LOVE those!0

Those are the best cups ever. I couldn't wait to get one and now people at work have them too.0

Those cups are nice and are MADE to be reused....believe it or not, plastic water bottles (the ones you can buy in a case) are NOT meant to be reused, due to the chemicals in them. However, I am guilty of reusing them, myself!0

If it's Tervis, I've been using them for years. They last (and are guaranteed to last) forever. They don't even get scratched or chipped.
Insulated, made in the USA....I'm from Florida originally, and it is a Florida company.

Thanks cmeiverside! I have limited access at work and can't post pics or links. I just got a cheap one at walmart--but may have to invest in a Tervis!! thanks!0

You're welcome! I went through many plastic cups that were inexpensive before I latched onto Tervis. They are expensive-ish. But the cheapies crack and chip and scratch - the Tervis do not. I've used mine daily, dropped them, and sent them through the dishwasher daily for over five years. Well worth the extra expense. They still look brand new.
You can purchase the lids and straws that fit them on the site, too.0 -
I LOVE mine! I put my iced coffee in it when I go to work and then I fill it with water 2-3 times (I only work 5 hour shifts). The straw is awesome bc it doesn't take as much "effort" to drink lol
plus some are very cute with patterns! mine is just a boring Wawa one that my fiance bought me when I realized I'd left my other one at my parents house but they sell them everywhere now.. they are AWESOME!0 -
Ok, I feel left out now. I drink Ozarka 33.8 flz oz bottles and just refill.0

If you go to Tervis.com you can customize the cups! I got my guys family some with their names and the emblem of their favorite NFL, NHL, MLB team on them. The decoration is on the INSIDE of the insulated cup so it doesn't scratch or peel off. They are also guaranteed for life! If it becomes unsealed just send it back and they send you a new one. They have multiple sizes, and even coffee cups! I got the lids for them, but not the straws. I found that the thick plastic straws are difficult to keep clean so I bought a bag of el cheapo bendy straws that work just fine...and I can just throw those away and get a fresh one. The only drawback is that they are not dishwasher safe (the hot dry cycle), and if you put them in the dishwasher the seal can break and then they won't replace them.0

Good to know! I've had Tervis for years, and I do send mine through the dishwasher....but I have my dishwasher set to "air dry".
I didn't know they would lose their seal
Even hot coffee doesn't affect them.0
