Those of you who own a Polar HRM ...

I know the manual says to machine wash the chest strap every 5th use, but is it ok to hand wash it instead?
I got my HRM last week and have used it everyday. It's time for a cleaning but I don't have a load of laundry ready to wash.

How do you wash your Polar HRM?

I have only washed mine by hand.

I personally throw mine in the washer, but hand washing it is fine.

Just use only soap, no fabric softeners and line dry it.. no dryer!

Anything that can be machine-washed can be hand-washed.

I wash mine by hand, every few times I make sure to do a really good job.

Hand wash everyday...lay out on a towel or hang to dry...make sure to clear out any of the mild soap you use...
