A little help needed here please!!! :explode: :explode:

I’m 48 and determined to get below 140lb and stick to it before I hit 50. I’ve recently been diagnosed with arthritis and so it’s the wake up call I need. I know that I am not extremely overweight but am conscious that any extra weight I carry can make a difference in the coming years.

I’ve been overweight for over 25 years. I’ve not been under 140lb for nearly 21 years when my last little bundle of joy arrived in the world.

I’ve tried various sensible eating plans over the years but on each occasion I’ve hit a plateau at about 142lb then gone back up.

I’ve been eating healthily since June and have dropped from 154lb to 142lb and am now 143lb. I’m seeing that plateau as one big horizon with no end!

I’m 5.4 ½ (the ½ is important!!!) so know I should be about 130lb to get a BMI of 22. about 135 would be ideal for me as I have big boobs. My waist measurement has not gone below 33” in living memory.

At present I’m eating about 1200 kcals per day as I have a desk job. I’m loosely following a GI diet as it gets me through the day without bad snacking. I do drink wine at weekends. I do Zumba and run 2-3 per week and try to walk most days. When I increase my food, I gain weight.

HEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!

Hi plateaus generally dont make you gain weight of course this is per my Diabetes Educator you should be losing weight sort of like a stair step..with intervals of loss followed by intervals of staying the same weight..the plateau intervals can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months....the cause for gain is usually caused by not being consistent with your diet and slipping here and there which adds up...make sure your sodium consumption is low and that you are drinking water and exercising to your max..even if your max is walking...if you havent gained dont panic just keep plugging along and remember (stair step loss) ..and if you are gaining then you need to revamp your diet and perhaps seek different exercise alternatives...if your increasing food due to the sites recommendation that you eat back exercise calories perhaps you should start by eating only a percentage of them back verses all of them...i personally dont eat them back but i give myself a caloric range everyday no matter what workout I do usually its 1200-1500
