I just saw a commercial for Subway's new Yogurt Parfait... and I was curious to see what nutritional information was, and compare it to McDonalds Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait. The results were very interesting....

McDonalds Fruit 'n Yogurt Parfait
160 Calories
20 Calories from Fat
Total Fat: 2g
Sat Fat: 1g
Trans Fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 5mg
Sodium: 85mg
Carbohydrates: 31g
Fiber: 1g
Sugars: 21g
Protein: 4g

Subways Yogurt Parfait
160 Calories
20 Calories from Fat
Total Fat: 2g
Sat Fat: 1g
Trans Fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 10mg
Sodium: 80mg
Carbohydrates: 30g
Fiber: 2g
Sugar: 24g
Protein: 6g

Its pretty much the exact same... a little lower amount of sodium here, a little more protein there... but all in all, the small difference in numbers is pretty insignificant.
One parfait doesn't out shine the other in any specific nutritional area.
The only thing that really sticks out to me is that they are both very high in sugar, which isn't a surprise since they are fast food parfaits.

So I guess it all comes down to eat whichever one you like best... or just make your own =D

I think it would come down to which one is cheaper. lol Although i am more likely to stop at Mcdonalds since there are more options and i like thier coffee.
  • thanks for the side-by-side comparison. I'll pass. Not a fan of eating at either establishment unless I'm on death's doorstep and there is nothing else around within a 50 mile radius.

Most of the sugar would be the lactose in the milk and the natural sugar in the fruit, as both of these have a lot of sugar. Even an apple is full of sugar.

Chick Fil-A's yogurt is the absolute best (with granola - not cookies). OMG, it's awesome. BUT, the fat and calorie content is much more. However, you get a bigger portion. I feel like it's a meal.

Thanks for providing this. I had no idea Subway was offering yogurt, except for the Dannon in their refrigerator cases. Must not be in the Raleigh area.
