Hi! I am new to MFP. I started doing this because I am overweight, high blood pressure (family history), and my sugar levels are borderline diabetic (family history). I am wondering with these issues, what should I set my percentages for my carbs, protein and fat? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

This seems more like a question for your doctor or your dietician then for an online forum. Good luck!0

This is a really good question for a dietician. I highly recommend you consult one. People here, unless they have medical training, will only be able to tell you what worked for them. That might not work for you. A dietician will be able to give you more personalized advice based on your various conditions, any medications you may be taking, your person height and weight, your goals, etc.0

I have the same lovely family history. It's "neat". I've had high blood pressure since I was 25 (I'm not on medication currently but maybe I should be) and at a relatively normal weight. I had gestational diabetes during my first pregnancy. Fun.
I have my ratios set to 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. Most of my carbs are high fiber (fruit, whole wheat). I never eat carbs alone (fruit alone is NOT a good snack). BUT I just came up with that and didn't get it from a doctor or anything.0 -

I follow the 40:30:30 ratio too!0 -
I have PCOS (insulin resistant disease) and am former Type II Diabetic --- theonly thing that works for me is high protein, low carb. My settings are 45% protein, 25% carb, 30% fat. Carbs is theimportant one --- get rid of the white bread/donuts/.... and start getting whole grains, quinoa etc.0
