I had this great mango and red pepper salsa over the weekend - no problem. But tonight when I reheated the leftovers and had it, I got these very painful spots in several places all over my tongue. OW! My roomie says it must be an allergy, but it didn't do that the first time.

Anyone know a quick remedy for the painful tongue? I am 300 cals short and I'll get the "too few calories" message, but it actually hurts to eat. Not exactly the dieting discipline I was going for.

gargle with some hydrogen proxide:drinker: .... just don't swallow it:noway: ....ew...nasty when you accidently swallow some. It's good for when you get those weird tongue spots...so I think this would be a method for you to use... it's a good anticeptic (oh sheesh sp! )

Just swizzle it around and keep doing that for a bit every so often....bet it feels WAY better in the a.m.

NOW if it truly IS an allergy, you of course would want to check in with the doc...but if's merely caused by hot food etc...and you got those white/red bumps on your tongue (sorta like when you burn your tongue on soup?) the HP gargle would work well.

Hope to hear back from you :drinker: :flowerforyou:

OMG I HEART U fitness chick! Yes, I tried the peroxide gargle and I feel THAT much better! (and it had the added benefit of freaking the roommate out with the "foaming at the mouth" bit).
Still a llittle sore, but WAAAYY better. I'll keep that in my bag of tricks.

    Thanks so much!

tee hee hee...yea the foaming is FUN! Glad it didn't sting to much, sometimes it has that effect...you can use it on a blister, when you have a splinter etc..it'll help you find it in you finger/foot etc...
