p90 x calories?

So I have read on different sites that each P90x program is helping you burn about 600 calories. Is this fairly true? I'm wanting to do the 30 day shred in the mornings and then come home and do one of the p90x exercises.
But how would I log it in? Or do I just do it manually and then put an automatic 600 calories ? Each program is about an hr long.. but the yoga one is an hr and a half.
Note: I know getting a HRM will just make it easier for me to calculate but IN THIS CASE.. i don't have a HRM monitor as of yet. So I'm just trying to get an estimate of how much a person burns.

I have been using the "Calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort" category. I usually put in anywhere between 45-50 mins of exercise, depending on the routine. (Since there are warm-ups/cool downs/water breaks) in the mix.
45 mins in that category shows 524 calories. This might not be accurate, but until I get a HRM, I think this is a good guess.0 -
Here's what I've been doing so far w/ the p90x workouts-yoga-log as yoga, kenpo log under kickboxing, ab ripper under sit ups vigorous, pylo and cardio x under aerobics high impact and the strength training I. Put under circuit training. I read all this on here from other mfp_ers and that's what they've done. Hope it helps0

This may be more accurate for a guy...someone who is taller/heavier. I track my calories burned with a HRM and at 5'7" & 123-125 lbs my stats are more like:
KenpoX: 400-500
Arms & Shoulders + Ab Ripper: 400-500
Legs & Back + Ab Ripper: 550-700
Core Synergistics: 400-500
YogaX: 350-400
PlyoX: 550-600
X-Stretch: 100-200
The ranges depend on how hard I worked that day, etc. If you want to know exactly invest in a HRM! Its really great I work so much harder when I'm wearing one and can see how many calories I'm burning!0 -
I take my heart rate at the "Water Breaks" (or as often as makes sense...maybe about 5 times per workout) and then average them for the whole workout (including my resting heart rate at the beginning and end) and then calculate the calories burned.

I just count heart beats for 10 secs, and then multiply by 6.
I usually put 35 for VO2Max (which seems to be a fair number used by other heart rate > calorie calculators.
I'm sort of CDO (I have to have OCD in alphabetical order) so I even created my own exercise titled P90X which I use for my exercise log on MFP every day, only modifying the time & calories burned.0
