I've decided to go out and buy a small bar of chocolate, then, leave it in my bag for 2 days, just to see if I can manage to walk around with it all day, and not touch it - anyone with me???
I really need to see if I'm over my chocoholic stage now before Xmas comes - if I can handle that choc bar in my bag for 2 days, I figure 1 whole day with it sitting in my home should be a doddle!

Neither am I, however....I AM MAD
I'm kinda hoping, if I place it very stategically at the BOTTOM of my bag, I'll forget it's even there :laugh:0 -
I know that is all I would be thinking about. But, it is a good challenge.
I have had the mini milky ways in my kitchen draw since Halloween and I still have quite a few in the bag. That would not have happened other years.

Why not buy some alternatives...
Like Chocolate tootsie pops or tootsie rolls...
lower in cals and fat0 -
I have had a large half eaten Fruit and Nut Chocolate slab on top of the cupboard in the lounge for about 2 months now we have not touched it ,my husband found it last night we couldn't believe it it had gone green, had to be thrown away  that's what happens when you are logging your calories AND eating properly.
I have not felt like chocolate  at all in months :noway: .
Hope you can all be as good :explode:0 -

nah, I keep those anyway, I just need to know that I CAN be strong, my diabetes will not thank me for sitting in the same rom as the 'real' chocolate at christmas, and my family refuse to compromise and go low fat chocolate this time of year.0 -
I think you can train yourself to eat chocolate in moderation. I knew I was not going to give it up so I decided that I would allow myself 6 dark chocolate kisses a day. I keep a bowl of them on the kitchen table. Some days I might eat all 6. Somedays I won't eat any. But knowing that I have those 6 in my calorie plan lets me know that I can still have chocolate. I have been doing this for a couple of years now. My friends think I have a never ending bowl of kisses!0

I've got that bar of chocolate in my bag, and I haven't even thought of digging it out
Ic know it sounds silly, but to me this is a major step forward - especially with all that's going on in my life at the moment
I think, if I can do this, carry that chocolate with me everywhere for 2 days, I can handle a whole day with it beside me on Xmas day.0 -
I love chocolate!
My aunt bought me a shirt that says, "Give me the chocolate and no one gets hurt!"
Your will is definitely stronger than mine.0 -

  What a coincidence, I cross stitched a teddy cooking with chocolate with the inscription 'give me chocolate and you won't get hurt' It hangs in my kitchen for all to see

Hi guys
Just wanted to update you all, I just realsied, I've still got that chocolate bar in my bag - been there for a whole 5 days, and I haven't even thought about touching it

You know what you should do is leave it out in plain sight if you can see it and not eat you know you'll be okay over the holidays or when ever it's will power. For me I could take or leave chocolate for me it's chips salty foods I love chips almost any kind any flavor I love the ones for salsa and dip like toptator. I'm a carb lover. Pasta and all that. I can't leave the pringles alone so I'm gonna get some baked chips I had some yesterday and they were good. If I were to get any snack I love and put it in the cubboard then I can say that I would do just fine but to have it in plain sight no way could I not want to eat one. We all know one leads to a serving or more maybe. I saw on the Doctors chocolate especially dark is good for you it needs to be 70% cocoa or more to be good for you. But I'll do a snack challenge with you. I need to go to the store. I'll leave what ever I get out in sight and see if I crumble.0

That chocolate is in full view everytime I go to my bag, which is like 15-30 times a day, due to my being a care support worker, my bag is my office, so every call I go to, I have to get the gloves and aprons out - which are right next to that bar of chocolate.
I've also - since 2 days ago, got 3 large tins in the kitchen, and a box of chocolates right opposite where I sit, so everywhere I am, I see chocolate - most of the time I see them as fatty bad foods, other times I think of the taste and texture, or that I just wanna open them, then I remember my promise to myself - to eat healthy for the rest of my life, and the odd one, WILL break me and I'll end up binging on them, so, I am now practicing the 'no thank-you's' when they start being passed around0
