Gaining Weight/No Weight Loss But Clothes Fit better

Anyone else having this type of issue? At one point 2 weeks ago I had gotten below 300, but now I'm back on the plus side of 300 but my clothes aren't fitting tighter (in some cases they are fitting better). I'm pretty much at a loss, due to my schedule I don't have enough time for weight lifting (which I'm told burn calories like crazy), so I'm stuck doing constant cardio....need some encouragement...

yes, yes i am! i feel and look thinner, but i seem to be dancing between 151 and 154. :( don't get discouraged! what matters most is feeling better in your clothes!

If you are losing inches, don't worry about the scale. By the way, lifting doesn't have to take longer than cardio.
  • This also happens to me so I have given up on the scales!! if you know your clothes are feeling better then why worry what the scales say! Maybe put your food diary online so folks can see if there is anything you can do different. But I say just give it time as your body will start to adjust and you will see results. Good luck. x

Guys thanks....I think in part I'm such a slave to the scale since I've been big for so long that if I don't see constant progress that in some way I feel that I'm failing. Working out 4 to 5 times a week, plus keeping constant control of what I eat for 6 out of 7 days, you want to see some type of numerical progress you know!?!?!

Thanks for the encouragement...much needed! Oh yea opened up my diary too so take a gander if you feel inclined.

Yeah, I agree with "thebunnies". Whatever you do, don't stop!!! Everyone's metabolism works differently. What may work well for you, may not for another. Whenever you can, do incorporate the weight training in your routines, but don't sweat it (play on words)!!! Be determined to find your niche then GIVE IT ALL YOU'VE GOT!!!! Most importantly, I'm learning it's great to work hard and stay consistent with my life changes, but even better for me to ENJOY this healthier, new life I am now living. Hopefully, you're making life-long changes and not in it for the short haul.

    Have a SUPER day!
  • I completely understand the frustration, especially when you’re around such a pivotal weight! You should definitely start taking your measurements and track the inches lost. That has helped motivate me through the lack of pounds lost on several occasions. Ultimately, the end goal is how you feel. Keep it up!!!
