Bunco....What is it???

i posted on my wall something about shopping for bunco food last night and several of my friends asked me what bunco was soooo, i'm posting a topic in case others are curious too......

Bunco is a dice game i play once a month with a group of friends.....

once a month we get together at one hostess' house and play bunco after eating a delicious dinner provided by the hostess....we each pay $5 to play and bring a crap gift item for a prize that goes to the player with the most losses during our 12 games...the money we pay to play goes towards money prizes for most buncos, most wins, last bunco, 6 wins & 6 losses, etc...
it is alot of fun and i look forward to it every month...this month i'm hosting and and i'm having a luau theme....i'm serving chips and salsa, kulua crockpot pork, garden salad, cole slaw, fruit kabobs, fruit punch w/frozen fruit, mai tais, wine, pineapple dump cake and fruit for dessert......

i have m&ms for the tables and another friend is bringing more candy to snack on while we play....we eat first, then play, then do dessert and prizes...we start around 7 and usually are done and heading home by 10....typically we have 3 tables of 4 players = 12 total BUT this month we have 16 people coming, maybe more....

we didnt play last month because so many were busy with summer vacations so we are all pretty excited to see each other and have a night out together, hence the 16 people lol....my kids will be home with my husband upstairs once everyone shows up and we try very hard to have it be a KID FREE night so mommy's have the freedom to just have a good time and not worry about "filters"....we are a loud and fun crew for sure....

if you have a group of friends and are looking for a fun way to gather, i highly recommend getting together a group...even if you only have 8 people i bet that at least 4 of them could find 1 more to get 12 to play.....

so that is what bunco is....it's a great chance for busy women to get together for a nice night out without hubbies or kids or dogs or whatever gives you stress LOL....

I love this game! I just came to be a permanent!!!!! I know how you feel though, when I tell people I am going to play bunko on Friday, they have no idea what I am saying. But I love it!!

I have a bunco group and we play every second friday of the month and its similar to yours, but we all chip in 10 for the next month and the hostess will take the $120 and buy 4 $25 gift certificates to where ever, and one $20 the $25 are won by Most games, Most bunco's, Last bunco, and the Loser..then the $20 is the hat prize you can only win the hat prize once a year.. In our group your definatly commited for a year, (so the prizes will always be available) but we get subs when one has to miss..Its super fun and I love it!!!
