How Do You Figure Calories...

I'm new to MFP and I was wondering how you go about figuring the calories for things like casseroles and other homemade dishes that have multiple ingredients. Last night I added up the calories for each ingredient and divided by the number of servings. I didn't do anything with protein, carbs and fat. Just wondering if this is what everyone else does or if there is an easier way. Thanks in advance for any advice.

if you go to your food diary, there is an option for recipes, you just input all the ingrediants and how many servings and it saves the info for you and u can use it from there on in your diary0

MFP has a tool where you put in a recipe and tell it how many people that will serve and it calculates calories per serving for u.
on my ipod if i go to diary then add then on the tabs at the top there is: frequent, recent, my foods, meals, recipes. click on recipes and then create a new recipe. and then its simple. i reckon on the computer is something similar0 -
Thanks! I will check that out and it sounds much more simple than doing it my way.0
