Hey fellow fitness pals! I'm fairly new to the community (in Toronto ON) and have to say I'm ecstatic with what's occurred. But knowing myself like I do, I've also realized my enthusiasm only takes me so far. Having the support of others who share common goals, encounter similar struggles is paramount. In short I'm looking for friends  The more serious you are the more fuel you'll provide. To all you veterans, PLEASE share your wisdom! KNOWLEDGE +MOTIVATION= LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!!

That s so funny...you so far are the closest person I noticed on MFP thus far being in Markham....LOL I used to live there!!!

I have no real advice to give other than what other gave me....if you are going to start counting calories and eating right.....it will only get you so far....you must incorporate working out as well....both cardio and strength.....Trust me when I say that this is my struggle as I m no veteran myself....

    Good luck!!!!!

    Since you run on support...

    1. Get some more friends!
    2. Get involved in challenges...like THIS one:

I'm no veteran, but there's lots of information via the link in my signature. Welcome to MFP.

    There's a couple things that I've learned......

    1. It's not a race, so try not to get disappointed when the scale doesn't move as fast as you wanted it to.
    2. Don't deprive yourself of the things that you really enjoy, everything in moderation.
    3. Exercise (I'm still trying to get into this one)
    4. Get your family on board, it makes it much easier. :)

Hope it helps. Those are just a couple of things that I've learned so far. Good luck!
