I need some fashion advice!!
So..
When i go shopping i see all these clothes, and think im so fat i would look horrendous in that and because of it, i wear the same black skinny jeans, the same shoes, and the same frumpy hoodie where ever i go...
And i have to say these clothes make me look bigger than i am and make me feel even more unattractive..
Well i do love my skinny jeans...
But i want to look for clothes that i will look good in when im skinny!
- Another reason for this is its a bigger incentive for me to keep going!!
But i dont have a clue what the current fashion style is! Anyone know??

No, I don't know a thing about fashion but I always try to find a stylish, honest friend to take along for these kinds of things. It helps to pick a store that it's hard to go wrong in, too. LOFT is my favorite reward store0

Fashion does not have to be what's in style. I make my own style based on what I feel looks good on me and makes me feel good (Hubby's opinion usually helps, too!). I've found a lot of what's out right now is really not for me, so I sift through racks for the colours & cuts that look good on me.
Kudo's to you to be able to wear skinny jeans, I have not EVER been able to do that (apparently my hips & thighs are not made to be "skinny"), so if that's what you feel good in & when you look in the mirror you like on you, then go for that style: skinny jeans with a cute peasant-style top or baby doll top would be cute, if you have good cleavage, a lower cut top with a "lift" bra can draw the eye away from "bad" parts (just a hint: don't just wear one shirt/top: pick-up some fitted tank tops to wear underneath your tops, they help smooth out your figure: I still wear tank tops under all my tops  )
Good luck finding your style :flowerforyou:0 -
* i do not own target and i do not make money of target so dont delete my commnet for trying to sell something*
this is a cute top that would be adorable with skinny jeans and it would show off your new waist. http://www.target.com/Merona-Collection-Beven-Top-Print/dp/B004I16OGQ/ref=br_1_4?ie=UTF8&id=Merona Collection Beven Top Print&node=347678011&searchSize=30&searchView=grid5&searchPage=1&sr=1-4&qid=1313720259&rh=collar_style-bin:V-Neck&searchBinNameList=target_com_category-bin,style_name,sleeve_type,collar_style-bin,lifestyle-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_primary_color-bin,price,target_com_brand-bin&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1

Check out H&M, or Gap. Or just go shopping in any of the major department stores (they usually have a huge variety of the latest styles) and try on what catches your eye. Dont necessarily try to fit in wth the latest trends, but get what you are comfortable in.0

Well.. if you are shopping for something you can fit into in a month or so I would continue to still shop for your skinny jeans, and get a few pairs of fall boots
And instead of hoodies (which I just love love love) maybe pick up a couple of cute fitted at waste or cropped jackets??? IDK but Summer is almost over so I wouldn't buy summer clothes.. Foot ball season is here , which means fall is coming, and I'm just so excited!!!

Slim and tailored always look better than baggy and loose. Wear clothes with shape, accentuating, but not stretched tightly across your curves.
Hoodies are not your friend . . .0 -
what u said before was good advice.
And i do wear my jeans to my belly button! lol
you dont need to worry so much!0 -

Great advice! Thanx! ^-^0 -
I like H&M, Express and Gap. It all depends on your budget but what I usually do (when trying to go trendy) is check out as many websites as possible. I go into BEBE (which is mega trendy), I check out Express, Piperlime, even Forever 21. All these stores know of fashion trends and will guide you in the right direction. You can definitely alternate low cost with a splurge. Never spend to much on trendy clothes, try Charlotte Russe (but mimic Bebe lol). Splurge on your pretty clothes. The typical long white sleeve tailored shirt and trousers. Splurge on shoes and a handbag. The rest can be mixed and matched and you can look like a million bucks just like you look in your profile pic.
Again, surf the internet............ it has all the trends, but surf different prices in all the stores you can......... Good luck and do not be afraid of fashion. Clothes do not mean the world, but I must say that they are your presentation card.0 -
if you think something is cute but it will look bad on you TRY IT ON! you will be surprised.
i wear black all the time. its safe and easy. i totally need to step out of my comfort zone too. Glad im not alone.0 -
Well, trends resurface in a slightly reinvented form every 20 years. Trend waves last 6 years. 2 years street fashion, 2 years mainstream, and 2 years going out. The first and last 2 years overlap with following trends.
So, early 90's style is coming back. We've been riding out the 80's bold colors, assymmetry, and over-sized tops for a while. I think we're going to start seeing looser pants again, gradually more muted and back to earth tones.0 -
when i go shopping i try on stuff out of my comfort zone
try something new, if you look at it and say you hate it
grab it and try it on
most likely you will surprise yourself with how good you look0 -
Thanx for all your advice! Next time i go shopping, if i see something i like, il try it on! ^-^
And if its something i really like but im too big to wear, im just going to buy it so that i can wear it when i get skinny!0 -
