it could be a a mix of both.do you do the same evercises all the time? how often do you wo? are you staying away from chips, candy and other junk food? lastly, do you log everything you eat and drink?

do you have your settings right on your food diary? the total calories should be under 2,000 if you're trying to lose 2+ a week

Maybe try more homecooked meals, like meat in the crock pot or just rty to include more fruits and veggies... if you want to add me as a friend you can see what I and my family eat, it's easy and healthier..

Very much I think if you drop your sodium (halve it, or more), and increase your water intake you'll see the results you're after.. It'd be good to see some fresh fruits and veg in there too.
    Good luck on your journey.

To be blunt, your diet isn't good. Far too high in sodium and saturated fat. You need to clean up your eating, eat less processed and fast food and up the fresh fruit and veg, whole grains and lean protein.
It is hard at first but you will find that you prefer it soon enough.

After looking at your diary I would totally agree with the above statement.

Starbucks will kill your efforts. I would most definitely cut that out and see what happens.

Having said that... Man, I miss my venti Cararmel Fraps.

Make sure you are spending your calories wisely.... Looks like a lot of sodium and saturated fats are in your diet.

Totally agree. It's going to be tough, but you've got to get away from so much processed food and get those fruits and veggies in there!

I agree with others above that it is your diet that is hindering your progress. It's made up of far too many processed foods. Even at that, if you have to go processed (time constraints, etc.) there are better ways to do it that will still allow you to lose weight. Switch out your white breads and tortillas etc. for whole wheat. Swap some of your less healthy processed foods for things like Healthy Choice. The brand has many different options that are portion controlled and contain much less saturdated fat and sodium than comparable pre-made meals. Throwing in some fruits, veggies, and unsalted nuts is also a good way to include quick snacks that are calorie and body friendly. Definitely I would say cut out the Starbucks, or if you need the caffeine fix switch to green tea or regular coffee with 1% or skim milk. You get used to it after a while lol.

Also, your calorie goal should definitely be less then 2000 for the 2 pound per week weight loss that you are expecting.

Hope some or any of this helps! Best of luck!

One thing I forgot that MFP can be bad for if you're not careful. Make sure your exercise estimates are pretty conservative. A lot of people work out for a half hour to an hour and expect that they have lost anywhere from 500-1000 calories. Some probably have, but your intensity level really has to be there to get that kind of calorie loss. Even heart rate monitors can be misleading, so I would suggest eating back fewer of your exercise calories if you continue to get little/no action from your scale.

This. You are eating a lot of highly processed food, most of the nutrients have been drained from fast food because of time/cooking style. Try to cook more at home (a slow cooker is a man's best friend), I'd suggest less starbucks/fast food, more fruits and veggies.

Do you log everything you eat? Some days you're missing meals, did you skip or did you not log?

Also, MFP exercise calories are BS, they're always high, I eat about 1/2 my calories back bc I don't have a HRM and I don't trust MFPs calorie guess.

Agreed.... That is why i use a HRM.... It is almost half of what MFP states it should be.

I will add that when I was using mine, it was often under, but also often more.
He doesn't seem to have been eating them all back anyway. The irregular eating is a good question though.

thank you all. I will definitely take this to heart. now to some of you that looked at my diary I did skip some meals. I also do eat at home, but I was looking for thing that are somewhat similar to what I am eating at home. now I will say not eating as many fruits and veggies as I should but will try harder to do so.
