HAHAHAH. Best post in a long time!0

Yah, you guys are right..... I'm the A-hole for spreading the word.
IF YOU DON'T FIND YOUR ANSWER THROUGH THE 'SEARCH' BUTTON, THE FEEL FREE TO POST A NEW TOPIC. Is it that hard to understand?
I love the way you have given yourself the authority to tell people when they can feel free to post. Sounds like someone needs a little break from the board...that'll be the BEST way not to see the same posts every day!
And how is posting a reminder... "giving me authority"?0 -
If asking the same question that was just asked yesterday pushes down a fresh, unanswered, legitimate question, then YES, it is bad.
Oh, you've got be kidding me?
Grow up and learn how to scroll down!0 -
How many calories does pushing the search button burn if I am 5'8 an 100 pounds? (in my dreams):noway:0

HAHA...you told me to "grow up" because these forums get riddled with excessively multiple posts, and I merely pointed out the Search button. That's rich!0 -

It would depend on if you used the MFP Database Vs HRM.0 -
But is it so bad to want to enter into a discussion with new people, make some new friends on here and get yourself motivated a little bit rather than adding a redundant "thanks for the info, I used the search function to find this" comment at the end of a thread that may have a trillion replies that no one is likely to look at again?

And now you are the arbiter of "question legitmacy?" Please. If anyone finds said legitmate question interesting they will comment on it. This annoyance at repeated questions is a little juvenile. As a previous poster pointed out, most people who ask these questions (myself included) are new to the board. And quite frankly, just because it's been discussed before doesn't mean it's been definitively answered. My FAQ was answered to my satisfaction--and not 12,000 posts ago, so I don't think this "movement" (which is common to every message board I've ever subscribed to) is ever going to catch on. In fact, posts about repeated topics are just so...trite. I wonder if I did a "search" about "searching before you post," how many times it would come up. LOL0 -

Lighten up people, really. If you stick around long enough, you'll see that it gets frustrating.0

It's a forum, this **** happens!
Every forum you go to has the same issues.....why turn it into a big deal where you make people feel uncomfortable for wanting to ask questions? If you've seen it before, just move on!0 -
If everyone used search and found old topics - surely there would be no need for the forums to accept new posts?0

yaaawn.... yah yah... you used the Search button and didn't find you answer...., but you used it. So I guess that applies to EVERY redundant post on the forum. I'm amazed some people will defend so aggressively the laziness of not searching for already discussed topics. Congratulations. :laugh:0 -
Kidding aside, I liked your post.
I've found lots of good advise as well as humor on MFP. And will use that search button, even if I don't burn a single calorie!

And I'm amazed at the amount of energy some will expend posting about posts they could easily ignore. Perhaps that earns more calories? In that case, congrats!0 -
Riddle me this.... what is the purpose of said "Search" button if you expect no one to use it, and bury good posts under redundant ones?0

If you ask me, there's not enough sarcasm to go around.
It makes life refreshing.
THIS!
Oh, and I have a question.... does drinking only coffee and tea count for water intake?0 -
Actually a good point because the people who are asking the questions are usually new and not sure how to really utilize the site. So they find the answers the only way they know how...asking a question. I have been on here for 2.5 months and I didn't realize you could use that search function. Luckily, most people are patient with the newbies. Most...
This. Until figured it all out and now use that delightful search button.0 -

I totally agree with him there IS such a thing as a stupid question and once you join MFP one would assume you know how to use a search engine i.e. Google so using the Search button on this site should be natural LOL. Be resourceful people!!0

THANK YOU.
I was ranting about this the other day, it's annoying.0 -
Riddle me this.... what is the purpose of said "Search" button if you expect no one to use it, and bury good posts under redundant ones?
People new to the site are excited and just want to join in most of the time. So they ask the same questions we all had in the beginning. Honestly, have any of you ever asked these questions?0 -

The point is that it is not always newbies. How may plateau/stalling posts go past every day, and the answers are all there for a quick search.0
