Skinny cow treats?

are the skinny cow products a good supplement for real ice-cream?
Ice cream is my favorite food and I've been avoiding it,
But I'm craving a good ice cream treat, but don't want to ruin my health.
Are the skinny cow ice creams good? Are they low in calorie?
Do you know any other good low cal ice creams (sorry sherbet won't do, I need ice-cream not sorbet!)
Any help would be appreciated

I like the mint ice cream sandwiches, very yummy!0

I suppose if you want to put processed toxic junk in your system all in the name of lower calories, then they're okay.
Try this:
Peel some bananas and freeze.
Throw in a blender with a little coconut milk.
Homemade, low-cal ice cream!0 -
Skinny cow is the best!!! And weight watchers is good too!!0

love love love them, i tried the individual serving of strawberry cheesecake icecream last weekend... although i could have easily ate two of them it was sooo yummy and i only bought one so i wouldnt be tempted.. the ice cream sandwiches are ok the cookie part sticks to the roof of your mouth and is a little dry but otherwise good. they ice creams run about 100 cals per serving.0

I personally have never tried the ice cream but the fudge bars are really good. I know there was a topic posted about Skinny Cow a while ago and several people said that they got sick to their stomachs from the sweetener that is used but I have not had any problems. I do not eat them often, but when I want chocolate - it does the trick Good luck.0

I like the chocolate truffle ice cream bars and NO i will not deprive myself from things i enjoy :bigsmile:0

You can also try real Gelato, far less calories, and less fat.0

You have a few choices, skinny cow treats are fairly good but I found if you lick them they make your tongue tingle in a really weird way, I chalked that up to all the fake ingredients that are probably in them. I gave them up for Blue Bunny mini ice cream swirls. They are little ice cream comes vanilla with a hard chocolate shell for 150 calores, they also come in chocolate with chocolate. The other option is just to have a small (toddler sized bowl) of ice cream and put on a little (tablespoon) hot fudge or carmel sauce. The smaller bowl makes you feel like you get more, plus you are getting a nice treat for right around 200.0

They are fan-damn-tastic. And I have modified my diet and improved myself. So let the judgemental people keep to themselves and enjoy.0

I am such a sucker for ice-cream, and I do like the Skinny Cow treats occasionally. I will have to try that sometime this coming week! Thanks for sharing! x0 -
I just adore Skinny Cow but can only get the Triple Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream here in Ireland and its the perfect treat for me at 93 calories to have if I fancy something else after dinner. Most sweet treats and going to be processed but what are you going to do hey you have to life I think and a little of what you like is important0

I've been wondering how processed they are. I eat them ALL the time, but recently decided I wanted to get cleaner about my diet and have been doing So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream, it's pretty good and all natural.
But if you don't care about processed and want a low cal option for ice cream, Skinny Cow is the bomb! I LOVE all their products.0 -
I'm addicted to them! Its one of the things I use when I get a sweet tooth. I love the Carmel Truffle (90 calories) and the Cookies N Cream Truffle (110 calories).0

I'll second that!0 -
I've never had their ice cream but for low cal ice cream, you can't beat Edy's Slow Churned Light Ice Cream (lots of flavors) at about 105 per serving.0

There is this new ice cream it's called artic zero and only 150 cals a pint. It's really a west coast thing but you can check online to see if there is a place nearby. As far as the ingredients go I'm still a sketchy about it but then again Im only taking baby steps in terms of converting to whole foods.0

Thank you for all of your opinions, I'm going to definently try them now, and even the gelato
But sorry I like processed crap for the sake of fewer calories and the ability to keep my sweet tooth in check
the banana cocunut milk idea is rubbish though, sorry I hate both, and as I said Sorbet is not ice cream in my book, which wouldn't stop my craving for ice-cream.
Thanks again for all of the support0 -
From what I remember they taste good! I read 'In Defense of Food' and just can't bring myself to eat the processed stuff anymore. Especially since the real stuff tastes so much better! Nothing like full-fat ice cream. I treat myself to 1/2 cup of Haagen Dazs Five ice cream when I have the calories available...smooth, creamy, DELICIOUS. I'd rather have only 1/2 cup of that than 500 Skinny Cow treats. YUM. I just tried their caramel ice cream this week and felt like I'd died and gone to heaven.0

I had that a long time ago and I guess it was OK. It kinda tasted like chocolate water.0 -
Not gonna deny it, they taste pretty good. And they are "healthy" in terms of calories and fat content. (carbs and sugar are pretty much on par with regular ice cream).
But if you mean healthy in term of what you are putting into your body then skip 'em. They are are all artificial filler and ingredients manufactured to taste like real ice cream. Just go buy some real ice cream, that's made with real ingredients, and indulge in one, measured, serving.
Not only will it taste better, ultimately it's going to be better for you. And it's going to satisfy that ice cream urge more than Skinny Cow anyway because it's going to have everything that you likely love about ice cream - richness, smoothness, denseness, and overall deliciousness.0
