HI, I'm Lorna and I've been using the site for a while now, however I don't often post and thought I'd do a wee introduce myself bit. I'm 28 years old, Scottish, 5ft 3in and 152.5lbs as of last weekend.
I started my weight loss journey in November 2009, after a visit to the nurse, who told me she wouldn't give me my normal contraceptive pill until I lost some weight. I'd thought about weight loss before but never in a serious way until this kick up the bum!
At this point I was at 210 lbs. I set myself a target to lose 4 stone, which I'm happy to say I reached last weekend. I'm looking to lose another 10-14 lbs which will take me in to a healthy BMI and give me a bit of leg room!
Its been a long haul but I really feel this is the best way to do it as I actually feel i have made a lifestyle change rather than just a short-term crash. I'm happy to have some new MFP friends who are at different stages and also those who are maintaining weight as I'm not sure how easy that is going to be (can i up my calories without going overboard??). I so often hear that the last 10 lbs are the hardest so some encouragement and opinion would be great! I'm always interested to see how other folk are getting on and sharing my experience if it'll help. I love to read about people doing well, it increases my motivation!
