Hey Guys!

I am brand new to this and I recently started Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30. I started on Monday with week 1 and had planned on at least doing the work out 4 if not 5 times this week. Well, I got so sore after Monday I could barely walk! (I obviously need this DVD) So I wanted to do it the next day but it just felt like I shouldn't work out such sore muscles so instead for the next 2 days I did some light running. I finally did it again today and felt great, but okay here is my question.. has this happened to any of you?! and what did you do? I mean it is "Ripped in 30" so I want to do it in 30 days but does that mean every day?? please give me your advice and if this has happened to you and what you did!! thanks!!

I personally haven't been able to stick to any kind of 30 day plan for anything because I can only really fit in 3 to 4 days of exercise per week into my schedule. So I do what I can do and it's surely better than what I was doing before...which was nothing!

every day i know it hurts but it's worth it im on level 2 of her shred i missed one day and regret it. In just 11 days i've lost 2 inches off my hips i didn't measure anything else yet. the idea behind it is forcing your body to change by making it work overtime. She obviously knows what she's doing lol

I haven't done these workouts, but here are a few things to think about:
    1. It's not really a good idea to do the same workouts every day. I am training for a half marathon and surprisingly I don't even run everyday. I do 2 short runs, a long run and one or two cross training days. You need to be working different muscle groups and rotating them.
    2. Even when your muscles are sore you should be getting them warmed up by working out. You said you did a light run, that is probably a good idea.

    Good luck and have fun!!
  • All good advice. But here's mine. My husband and I did the Insanity workout after we had our baby. Now it's 60 days not 30. We did it exactly to the plan of the workout. We did something every day it said to, and man did we get in shape in those 60 days! I lost all the baby weight that I had gained durring pregnancy, plus an extra 15 pounds! So I would say stick with what the workout plan is. If it says workout everyday, workout every day. That is, if you want to see the results it is promising.
P.S. Don't forget to eat good and clean ;)

    Have fun too!

I think Jillian recommends taking a day off each week on the Ripped DVD.. Listen to the intro.. I am 2 days away from finishing the 30DS and will have done it for 30 consecutive days as well as completing the c25k during this time.. I won't be doing that with ripped.. My body is really tired and I am now a firm believer in rest days!!
