Those exercise calories

Options
Hey everybody,

I talked to my personal trainer about the question of eating our exercise calories since when I eat mine, I don't lose weight. He said that unless we're under-eating or are very malnourished, our bodies will not go into starvation mode if you don't eat those exercise calories. For example, today, I have eaten my allotted calories, but I've exercised 500 calories off in my spinning class. MFP says I've gained a 500 calorie bonus or whatever so I can just sit around here and have 5 bags of popcorn or something? I'm not going to eat my exercise calories and see what happens.

I think that it's best to try it out for ourselves because everyone's body can be different. Just be careful. For me I began losing consistently once I started eating at least half of my exercise calories. The body needs fuel to function...extra to push through a workout sometimes. Just listen to your body. Good luck!

I don't do hard workouts very often...I would love to, but I am just always busy and it seems like I just don't have time. But whenever I do, I ALWAYS make sure I eat my extra calories! I have never had a problem...and I have been consistently losing weight since July!!! For me, I love food...I will take any chance I get to eat some extra food! I LOVE THOSE EXERCISE CALORIES!
