Hi my name is Marilyn and although I've been a member on myfitnesspal since April 2011 this is the first day I've posted anything in the forum.

My starting weight on myfitnesspal was 210 and after fluctuating to a high of 213 pounds, I currently weigh somewhere between 205 (my scale) and 209 (nutritionist's scale.) I would like very much to lose 65 pounds and get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight (145 pounds) -- my children are 19 and 15.

I am motivated to lose weight for three reasons:
1) self-image
2) cardiovascular improvement
3) reduced wear and tear on my joints -- I have tendonitis in both feet resulting from flat feet.

I go through cycles of being motivated and discouraged with the whole weight loss program. Because of my occasional tendonitis flare-up, that gets so bad I can't walk, forget exercise, I really have to watch what I put into my mouth because burning off excess calories in the gym is a less likely option for me.

I have one friend on the forum and I am interested in making more connections to share information and offer encouragement.

Thanks!

Hi Marilyn! I also struggle with motivation at times (I have one of those 'all or nothing' personalities). I am also just venturing onto the message boards! Jess

Thanks Wendi0719 for your kind words; you and I are kindred spirits in that we have the same weight loss goal, 65 pounds. Good luck with it and I will see you around the boards, I'm sure.

Thanks Jess7170 for your note; good luck to you with weight loss efforts. If I come across any compelling motivation tips I will be sure to post them for general consumption.
