Just wondered if anyone has ever experienced cramping of the intercostal muscles and if so what did you do to prevent it.

Thanks

Pinched muscles in the back often send the pains around the body to be pains in the ribs, chest or heart areas so I have to go with them. To get rid of that pain you have to free up your back muscles and here's how to do that:
    Back:
    (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Though referred pain as stated could be the issue what is not known is what you are doing that causes the cramping?

Was evaluated by a dr. and he said muscle cramping, but no I don't know how I did it. I wasn't twisting but I did carry something heavy upstairs on that side of my body the day before. Better now but just wondered if anyone else had ever experienced this. It was hard to take a deep breath for 4 days without pain.
