How many calories? (Indian Feast)

Options
Disclaimer: This is my first attempt at posting pictures,.

I went to the hair cutting ceremony for a friend's son this afternoon, and afterwards, we had a delicious Indian feast! I don't know half of what it was, except that it was all good! Top row: rice pudding, a "doughnut" that had been soaked in syrup, muttar paneer, and rice with some sort of sauce. Bottom row: Some type of vegetable fritter, potatoes/cauliflower/green beans, bread (pappadoms?), and a relish made with beets, carrots, radish, jicama and dried cranberries (less traditional on that one!). Blueberry rice pudding in the bowl.

ANY ideas at all how many calories this was? I don't expect anything even remotely exact, and no matter how many it turns out to be, we had a wonderful time, so it was definitely worth it, but it would be nice to know where to start.

Aaaaaand the picture doesn't work.

Have a look at the link I posted...

Looks very yummy - you will need to make the pic a bit smaller - it is also in the blog :-)

Yep, looked at that one, too.
I made a photobucket account and uploaded the picture. I copied the URL and pasted it. I added the <img> tags, making sure they weren't uppercase. Don't know what else there is.

You did it (and I uploaded it WAY too big, I see), but what did you do?

I get it now, thanks, but apparently need to keep resizing the picture down.

    Thanks again!
(can't believe I used to write HTML code back in the day . . .)

Let's face it, it's probably taken you over your calories for the day!

So just stick in say 1000 calories, and enjoy the occasion.

I'm sure it took me over my calories for the day! :drinker: And totally worth it, too. But it would be nice to have some sort of idea . . .
Also, it's been good for me to learn about posting pictures, which I apparently suck at.

Yum, that looks like a delicious meal :)
The database here is truly amazing to me - if you type in Indian buffet you will find a number of entries to choose from.
Of course it's going to be a pretty rough estimate, but it will get some numbers and a record in there for you in the easiest way.

That's gotta be over 1000 for sure.... to much deep fried stuff!! And the breads pack a punch all of their own.

Hate that indian food is so high cal.... my fave!

Sorry - went shopping so did not see your question ....yes - you need to resize in Photobucket - rule of thumb - make sure that none of the numbers are bigger than 500 - if you hang your mouse over the top of the picture the resize option should come up.....

It is really tricky to post pics here - I must say I keep on going back to that tutorial every time I have to do it....

The size is definitely the most challenging part for me!
