Wide hips?

Hi, guys! This morning, out of curiosity, I tried on a pair of size 28 jeans. I've dropped nearly 50 pounds so far, and I've been wearing a size 28W capris which are SUPER loose and everything on me now. The thing I noticed when I tried on the regular 28 jeans is that the only thing preventing me from actually wearing them is the fact that my hips are still wide and flabby.

I know that you can't target to lose weight in any specific area, but I was wondering if there was any sort of exercises I can do that are low impact on my knees and that will work out my hips. Let me know if you have any good exercises.

Thanks!

<3 Nika.

I wish I knew. My waist is like a size 8/10 mostly 10 but my hips/butt are a size 12! And it's so annoying. Jeans don't fit me right. :( If you find something I'd love to know too!

Wide hips are genetic. You can't reduce your bone structure, so if your hips are wide then just embrace them.

Plus guys are hard wired to think wide hips are good for child birth... So evolutionarily speaking us hippy girls get to be cream of the crop!

Might be that your hips are the last place fat will leave. Might be that your bones are just genetically wider. Either way, no sense obsessing over it. All you can do is keep going on your journey and as you get closer to your goal, hopefully you'll be happier with them.

I have wide hips. You can lose inches from your hips. As a person starts to lose fat from the body, they will lose fat from their hip area as well.

Never said you couldn't lose fat. I said wide hips are genetic. You can lose body fat and still have wide hips.

Yes, it's true that a person with wide hips will still have wide hips after losing fat. Fat and inches prevents people from getting into some clothes.

I have the same issue! As Ive lost weight, my naturally wide hips look even bigger now that my waist is getting smaller. Squats, lunges, side leg lifts might help tone up that area. There are worse things than having wide hips though. Keep up the great work!

Award30, you are right about guys and hips. I was told that I had birth hips. It makes me laugh.
