Woke up today feeling really down and defeated.
My best friend is moving to Australia next week, so this week will be my last with her . People often say we are like sisters and we even can tell what each other is thinking sometimes! We once buried a box in the woods with all our hopes and dreams in (like they do in the film Cross roads) which we were going to recover when we turned 21. Well, 21 came and we couldn't find the damn thing! But I remember vaguely what we put, and her moving to Australia wasn't one of them
Anyway, My friend is a (UK) size 6. She can eat whatever she wants, seriously, she was even hospitalized with gall stones last year because she ate so much crap (because she knew she wouldn't get fat!)
I know that this week she is going to want to make the most of the time we have left-which will mean meals out, drinks and lots of chocolate. And because it is her last week in the UK, I just know I am going to end up giving in.
Also it is my Dad's bday this weekend. Mum is making a giant Mexican meal which is his fave (and mine!) alongside home made blueberry cheesecake and birthday cake.
How the hell am I going to stop myself from gaining this week? I don't mind not losing as long as I don't gain. Tips please!!!!!

Its all about moderation.......
you can eat everything there but in small portions, eat it slower and take breaks in between eating. You will taste it better and appriciate it more.
You will get there.

Can you not have some days out doing fun stuff but active, like suggest shopping so you get lots of walking in or me and my friend sometimes go to this thing called go ape, which is loads of rope walk ways in the woods you walk along, suggest fun actuve things rather than eating out. Stuff you have both wanted to do but never got round to doing.0

What about suggest some beauty treatments, or a spa day.... and get lots of exercise in the pool to counteract any post spa drinks. Good luck.0

Hydrate well, work-out, try and make some good choices, lighter calorie food and drink.
But when you look back on the time you spent together, I'm sure it'll be more important that you had fun.0 -
Enjoy the time that you have together luv! She is your friend and sister from another mother as we say in the States! Now, while doing so: drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and preservatives, when not celebrating have sensible meals that feature proteins, vegetables and salads and walk as much as possible. Plan ahead as much as you can, even if only on a day by day basis, so that you can find pockets of time to squeeze in a walk, 10 minutes of resistance training, a swim....whatever. Stay mobile and stay hydrated! Again, enjoy the week with her, feel the feelings and plan your days.....good luck!0

hi there.
well life throws things we dont like and losing friends but you can still keep in contact by phone or skype, what I would say is have a few days were you pamper yourself even eating things you should or would not due to gaining weight but a treat or guilt free day/s is ok as you can restart again and looking at your pic I dont think you should worry as you will burn it off quicker than you think so be a devil enjoy
and if you want to add me as a friend that will be fine0 -
What you do every day is what really matters. Try setting your default behavior at "healthy choices" and allow yourself to indulge on those special occasions. Healthy eating is important; It's not all about weight-- even your thin friend had consequences to her poor eating choices. A couple of days of indulgence will be fine. Try to up your exercise and stay true to eating right most of the time. (Maybe you could even be a role model for your friend and influence her to eat better for her health.) Try not to let food define the event, which is about your friendship. Good luck; and have fun!0

Try getting some exercise each day and also watch what you eat the meals you are not out with anyone. Control what tou can definitely control. Try to keep the sweets and drinks in moderation and choose your dinners out with as many healthy options as possible. As far as cheesecake and birthday cake, have just a small piece so that you can enjoy it.
I hope this helps, you can do it!0 -
Everyone's already said it really, try and make sensible choices, stay hydrated etc. I think the most important bit of advice though is to enjoy the time with your friend and try not to worry about the weight loss for this week.0
