Don't beat yourself up! Just chalk it down to experience, and glug that H20 down like your life depends on it!! Seriously, it helps!

There is no way that you have gained nearly half a stone from 2 nights of indulgence You have to eat an extra 3,500 calories a week to put even one pound on!

Chinese has really high amounts of sodium in so drinks lots of water and wait a few days to weigh yourself.

  • just get back on plan. It's probably alot of water retention from all the sodium drink extra water. Don't get discouraged we all have setbacks.

I've found that my body is extremely sensitive to sodium and will retain water like its going out of style. After having chinese food or even just going to the diner I will end up gaining a few pounds. I will start drinking water and get back into my routine and I usually go back to my previous weight within a day or two.
This has been a big step for me since I still LOVE all the food that I know will do this to me. Its all about moderation and allowing yourself to have what you really like every once in a while. You just need to realize what it will do to you.

Once you learn to keep a small cheat meal a week, nothing will stop you!

Its mostly water weight from all the salt. The Chinese food is probably the worst of the two.

I went camping a month ago for 3 days and had some indulgences and just after 3 days gained 7 lbs so the first week getting back DRANK tons of water and kept on target with my food diary and lost the 7 lbs plus another 1.4, if your having trouble having too many "bad" days then dont eliminate them all at once just maybe have one once a week if you have stayed on plan all week and then have a night of indulgence but plan for it by exercising that day for the extra calories and drink plenty of water (and dont get on scale the next day)
  • Don't be discouraged, I agree with everyone else...Your weight fluctuates. Even when I don't cheat my weight can fluctuate 3-4 pounds. It should go down within a few days of eating healthy and drinking a lot of water. Usually when I do have a cheat meal...I try to avoid the scale for a few days to a week so I don't see the gain.

Do you weigh yourself at the same time each day/time you weight yourself? Example, always immediately after you wake up and after doing your pee? Your body weight will flux 3-5 pounds during the day and typically we are at our lightest weight first thing in the morning.

If you find yourself constantly cheating or being weak, maybe you're setting yourself up for failure, rather than success. Maybe try the approach that so many other folks do and give themselves 1 cheat day per week. There are some great fitness plans out there which call for a cheat/off day each week. And the off day just isn't a rest day for your fitness activities, but an off day for your healthy diet.

I'm not saying what you should/shouldn't do, I just dislike when people call themselves weak when their plan is setting them up for failure. Don't look at this journey as a dictatorship, come in to it with an open mind and just keep trying to keep doing better.

Heck, if you had 1 'off' day every week, you would still have 6 'on' days ya know. That would be something like 85% of the time you were eating healthy. Heck, there are a lot of professions out there that if you were 'on' 85% of the time you would have mad Oprah money. What if you hit a homerun 85% of the time or birdied 85% of the golf holes our there, or closed that sale 85% of the time. Nothing is more important than our health and if you're 'on' 85% of the time...you are KICKING SOME SERIOUS *kitten*! Focus on your positive days/situations, not the negative ones. As even with 2 cheat 'off' days this past week...you still had 5 good days, right??? That's something like 71% of the time you were 'on'. That still is some AWESOME *kitten* KICKING!!!

Everyone has days when they cheat. But unless you at the whole pizza and a vat of chinese food gaining 6 lbs in a cpl days seems impossible.

You say you keep doing this..so what is the benefit? Stop cheating on your diet. Last week I was way under my calories so I ate stuff that wasnt healthy. I pride myself on eating healthy. So my friend questioned my eating habits. And I got offended..lol..I was like I eat healthy all the time...well I realized I didnt need to eat that. It wasnt much so i really didn't need to eat it. So I will try to eat healthier and healthier daily..good luck.

oh wow....6lbs gained in three days....that is upsetting, but i'm not surprised since u had both pizza and chinese in a 2 day span. they are both loaded with sodium and will make u retain water like crazy! i would go on natural diuretics for a few days, u'll be amazed at the water that comes off. try these for a few days:

Apple cider vinegar -- is a natural diuretic and helps maintain potassium levels.

    Artichoke -- natural diuretic

Asparagus -- contains asparagines, a chemical alkaloid which helps flush the kidneys.

Beets -- attacks floating body fat and fatty deposits.

Brussels sprouts -- cleanse the cell and stimulate thought kidneys and pancreas.

Cabbage -- breaks up fatty deposits.

Carrots -- speeds up metabolic rate and helps remove fat and waste from the body.

Cranberry juice -- aids in the removal of excess fluid from the body.

Cucumber -- stimulate the kidney and aid in the removal of uric acid.

Dandelion And Dandelion Leaf -- natural diuretic, and leaf key aides in the detoxification of the urinary tract.

Green tea -- natural diuretic and has been used for centuries in China.

Fennel -- has a calmative and diuretic property.

Horseradish -- speeds up the metabolism and helps eliminate fluid.

Lettuce -- aids in metabolism and flushing of toxins from the system.

Nettle -- has natural diuretic properties.

Oats -- contains silica in natural diuretic.

Tomatoes -- are rich in vitamin C that aids metabolism in the release of water from the kidneys.

Watermelon -- natural diuretic helps increased urination.
