Ok I posted this earlier but I need some help and motivation. I really really want to lose weight. I am 191 pounds and I want to get down to at least 135. I am 5 foot 4 inches tall. Everytime I think I am ready I fall back into a rut and end up going nowhere. I don't know if I am just depressed or what. I need some real good advice or help and motivation or something. I know I have to do this for myself but for some reason it isn't working for me right now. Any help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Just do it. :flowerforyou: don't wonder about IF you can do it, IF you will reach your goal or IF you'll fail. JUST DO IT. :drinker:
  • I know exactly how you feel.:grumble: The only suggestion that I have is to take it day by day. Don't think about tomorrow or next week or next month. Take it one meal, one craving, one snack at a time. Don't think about how far you have to go. Take it one pound at a time. You can't change the past and you can't predict the future, all you can do is live in the moment. Enjoy it just the way you are.

Hm.....how about try this? Pick one thing....add more water, or a veggie at dinner each night... or stop weighing yourself each day if you are (if you're doing it compulsively I mean)......... add some fruit, limit the simple carbs. Have your goal be one or two of those things ...then build up from there.....

baby steps.....it won't be so overwhelming then:drinker: ....... trust me! MFP works ...keep track of food going in, and start taking a look at what you'd like to change about that........ toss in some water, fitness.....keep it positive, treat yourself kindly..........gratitude!!

Ideas that just might work for the spot you're in!:flowerforyou:

Wishing you nothing but the very best on your journey along with us!:drinker:

Just read an article that suggested focusing on a weight loss of 10%...not a long term goal of a size or a specific weight.

Then when you reach that goal, re-evaluate, go for another 10% ( and guess what, it will be fewer pounds...yeah!!!)

Sounded like a safe, sane, and emotionally pleasing way to view things to me.
  • try giving up one bad thing (like soda) and replace it with something good (like water)...if you do that and slowly replace the naughty things with healthy things, before you know it you'll be on your way to a healthier you!...if you try to do too much too fast, you will feel deprived and you will hate the process of getting healthy...one step at a time - you can totally do it!

Break down your goals into measurable chunks. Before you can get down to 135, you need to get down to 185. Learn food-free rewards for when you do well and meet each mini-goal along the way.
