When I spend an hour walking at 2.5 mph on the treadmill, I am completely sweaty and exhausted, yet an hour of walking at that same speed leaves me far less tuckered. What gives? I feel like I am burning more on the treadmill, but maybe not.

I don't understand the question.0

I would think the treadmill makes you walk consistently without slowing down whereas when you walk outside or wherever I think you subconsciously slow down at times to give yourself a break. What do you think?0

It could be air circulation. If you are walking outside and moving you have air circulating around your body cooling it, but not on a treadmill. If the treadmill has a fan, try using it, but I think you are heating up more on the treadmill and not so much on your outdoor walk.0

I think he means, like when he walks on the tredmill he gets sweaty and tired faster than when he just like walks around, not on a tredmill? Is that it?0

I notice the same thing. For me I think it's because I can't seem to walk naturally on a treadmill. My feet and calves start to cramp up too. I walked outside yesterday at an average of 3.0 mph.. I can't walk that fast on a treadmill.0
