Hey guys ive searched on here for some ChaLEAN Extreme workout video information and found only a couple threads (maybe i got tired of trying to look through all these threads since there isnt a search options that ive found to make it easier). Ive seen that pretty much everyone on MFP hails to Micheals and her 30ds (which i plan on getting myself as a present for my next 10lb mile mark). But im really interested in ChaLEAN and just wanted to know how people felt about ehe work out set compared to insanity or p90x and also compared to the 30ds. Why you chose it over any others, pros and cons, before an afters, tips....just any information really.. or direct me to a thread with this information possibly. Thanks

Im interested too. My husband & I have been doing insanity for a week now & really like it because the workouts are very intense but only about 40 minutes long as opposed to p90x which takes well over an hour!. We've done p90x before but have 2 kids & both work, sometimes we just dont have an hour & a half Im curious to hear more about Chalean.0

I have been doing Chalean for a little more than 2 months. I LOVE it.. I was doing 30 day shred, but I got really bored. I have not gotten bored with CLX. I have lost a lot of inches but not much weight. The last phase is where you are supposed to lose most of the weight. What I like best is that there is not a lot of time to commit.
Good luck with your decision!0 -
Kel--congrats on your accomplishments so far! that is a true inspiration! i have 1 work out video that i do, and im intimidated by the multi-video training programs but i really am getting tired of my 1 video...I hope we get some answers soon!0

I have not done ChaLean Extreme yet, but I am going to be getting it next. I currently do Turbofire with chalean and I love her. My turbofire came with a free chalean extreme workout on it to intro it-its the burn circuit one. From what I saw of it, I like it and want to do it. I am doing 30ds starting this week in addition to my turbo fire and gym workouts. Soon as i finish turbofire though, I will be getting Chalean extreme. While I cant comment on that program exactly, I can say that Chalene is awesome, I love her energy and I love that she offers up modifications for everything (for bad knees, backs , etc.)
Sorry if this doesnt help you any, but figured I d still comment : )0 -
jen i do believe i heard someone else say that. due to the weight workout that you dont lose weight at first. Do you think this would be a good "weightloss" video then? or more geared to a person who would like to"tone up"?0

I don't know if you've done this yet but you could always sign up for a free account on their user site and check out before/after and progress pictures.0

that is a good idea i never thought of that! really i suppose everyone does 30ds bc it is so much cheaper...and anyone who has the money will probably buy p90x or insanity becuase a lot more people have tried them...i didnt think about making an account on there lol0

It is geared for weightloss, but mostly *fat loss* You build a lot of muscle, which revs up your matabolisom, and lets you eat more. The last phase is where you are going to see the weigh loss. It is not as hard as P90X and takes just about 30 min a day, except for the Burn Intervals video and the Ab Burner (done on the same day) which takes about an hour. I have lost a lot of inches, but only about 4 lbs since starting the program.
If you want to check out a thread here, check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/293721-chalean-extreme-group-starting-monday-5-23. There is a lot of information, and you can see what others are saying before you purchase.
Good luck!!!'0 -
Hi there - I have done ChaLEAN through several times and I love, love, LOVE it! I can't speak to the 30DS, but from what I have heard, it does sound redundant, which could make it boring.
ChaLEAN is 90 days, not 30. You do three weighted workouts each week and interval cardio on two of the other days. Each day's workout is different - so you aren't repeating workouts within the same week, but each week repeats for the entire month (hope that made sense). At the end of 30 days, the weight lifting routines change and again at 90 days the weight lifting routines change, so it stays pretty fresh throughout the entire 90 days. I tend to sub in other cardio on the non-lifting days just to change things up, but I stick to the weight lifting schedule exactly.
This is a fat loss program, which may ultimately lead to weight loss, but really, your goal is lost inches, right? I mean seriously, who cares what you weigh as long as the size is going down?!!!? Don't get hung up on the scale - your weight will fluctuate daily depending on many different factors: muscle gain, water gain, water loss, fat loss - it's a huge, huge moving target. And, as you have probably heard on here before a handful of muscle is going to weigh more than a handful of fat - so it is possible to weigh the same or maybe even a bit more but be physically smaller (because the muscle is more dense and takes up less space). Ditch the scale - it is not your friend. The tape measure and your mirror will never lie to you.
Anyway - I can't say enough good things about ChaLEAN. The workouts are only about 30 minutes long, which is very do-able. You will need weights or resistance bands to do the strength workouts and they always have someone on the videos showing how to use the bands and someone doing a 'modified' version. ChaLEAN is a great, great motivator and if you do the program - and, most importantly - watch your diet - you will get great results!
Good luck!0
