What to do with "big" clothes

Heres a dilemma...I have done this soooo many times. I have done the complete purge of old clothes only to gain weight back and desperately wish that I still had something to fit in to. For the last few years I have stored all big clothes as I have lost wt.

But of course this is the last time I want to be in this spot. This is the first time I have engaged in a support community. I am not a fan of facebook and not very social. But this site has changed my opinion of asking for help and building support. I really think this time I can do it for the last time.

Do I really get rid of some of the nicer "big" clothes I own as I find they no longer fit?

My closet is size 16 down to a size 10 w/ a pair of size 8 brand new jeans. I am just now comfortably getting back into 14's.

My daughter helped me recently to weed through and we did get rid of 50% of everything in all sizes.

What are you all doing?

My school is having an extra "closet" area for the students that come inappropriately dressed... needless to say, I'm donating a lot!

For most of mine I get the sewing machine out and alter them to fit. That's for the nicer outfits. The "older" shirts and jeans I wear to work. I'm a welder so don't need nothing good. A few things that I could not alter I gave to my cousin while she was losing weight, then she would find someone else to fit into them when she was done with them.

I have only kept one outfit of each size to remind me of where I don't want to go again. Mine range from 24's to 12's Glad to say I am in the 12's now.

I found that keeping all my larger clothes was not a good idea. It "allowed" me to put 60 pounds back on. Spent the last 1.5 years getting rid of it......again.

I have started donating my clothes to the local women's shelter. There's clothing drop offs all throughout town and I've been putting them in bags and donating them :)

I plan on giving mine to Big Sister. I don't want to fit into the big clothes ever again! I'm keeping the shirts though because the girls haven't shrunk yet so I need the large size shirts to keep them covered.
