Opinion on diet aids?

First, let me say that for 7 months I've been doing this the right way...eating right, lots of water, exercising, etc. So, it's not like I'm trying to find help outside the normal path from the start. I'm just having the worst time trying to get off these last ten lbs. Additionally, I'm retaining water weight like crazy and I'm sick of it! I feel like my metabolism isn't nearly as high as it should be, and my energy level isn't where I want it to be. On top of that, I lose weight SO slowly...it's taking me 7 months to lose and keep off 15 lbs.

I guess my question is, anyone use any or had success with any diet aids? I'm curious about Slimquick (being a woman and seeing how it is targeted for women), as well as any vitamins that might help. Basically, if anyone has any suggestions I am totally open to them. I have a very important event in a month and I want to lose 8 lbs before it.
