Why do I feel like anytime I eat anything with salt my feet instantly swell? I know salt causes you to swell but I feel like I am super sensitive to it. Is it normal to retain water so quickly and easily?

I know exactly what you mean... I am continuosly swollen and not just a little... like worse than when I was pregnant because of the sodium. I find drinking lots and lots of fluids helps...
  • oh my gosh meeee too!!! I try to stay in the 1,500mg/day range but yesterday I went over to like 3,000 and it translated into a pound on the scale and feeling "puffy"!! Just remember that its not "legitimate" weight gain and when you go over your sodium intake the next day pile drive the water and yes tea helps! I have never tried fennel tea (but I am very interested in it?) but most teas are diuretics. I think this happens to most women, and it is even worse when you are on some types of birth control. :(
  • I'm super-sensitive, too. Sometimes I think I can watch my feet, legs, and hands puff up! I had not heard the fennel tea remedy -- I'll surely give it a try! I always just try to be extra careful for a couple of days and also eat plenty of high potassium foods to help balance it all out. Drinking plenty of water helps, too.

I do that too! But what actually is the worst for me is beer! I love beer, and sometimes on the weekends I save some calories for one or two, but it makes me puffy! Usually just drinking a bunch of water the next day helps, but I can't decide if it's worth it!
