Hey,
I'm new here... just discovered this site some days ago. My challenge is to loose from 142Kg to 110Kg in the healthiest way. I already lost 8 years ago from 134 to 95 Kg in 6 months but that was crazy.
Now I will try to use this site and my iPad GymGoal for the workout.
I'm living now in KSA which is the worst place to try a diet. Here there are all the fast food franchises (McDonalds, Hardees, KFC, Chili's, Chicago Uno, Fuddruckers...) and, on top of that, all the saudi people really love to invite friends for dinner to big tables full of food, arabic pastries, etc... so the challenge is going to be.. A HELL!
The good thing is that in spite of my 188cm and 142kg I love sports. I play basketball, tennis (paddle tennis when I was back home Spain), martial arts and my friends always say that is weird that being so big I am still "fit" and "sporty".
Anyway... my belly has to disappear, I really don't want to be a bad example for my coming baby (next Christmas)
So... here I am!
Best Regards / José D.

Welcome to MFP José!
Family gatherings and dinner parties are the worst! You feel you have to eat to be polite, then once you do all hell breaks loose. I survive by eating healthy before I go, then nibbling at foods I know I can eat. People are usually so busy talking and eating as long as you look like you have food on your plate they don't take much notice.
I used to feel deprived because I wasn't 'allowed' those foods, but the truth is - I am allowed those foods, I just don't want them much any more, I feel more deprived without my health and fitness plus MFP really helps to keep you motivated0 -
Hi Sandislim,
Yeah, you are right... anyway there is something that makes me more dificult to loose weight and that is: I LOVE eating. Eating is a big part of the Spanish culture. The best conversations, the best commercial deals and many other moments always happen around a lunch/dinner table.
That's why I stated: Startings are always easy... It's easy to loose the first 5-10Kg but... changing your diet habits is not that easy... let's see where this MFP brings me!
