I'm in Western New York, and use a Droid w/Verizon service. I love it for tracking my workouts. The last few days it won't pick up a GPS signal for Sportypal, Endomondo, Google Maps, etc. Have tried reboot etc. etc. Anyone know if Verizon is having issues?

Only Droids on vzw and in NYS as a whole apparently (I am in Buffalo). I have the Droid Incredible with the same problems. I can't track my runs!!! My friends with iPhone on verizon in WNY area are fine. I am upgrading from Droid to iPhone in january when I can. Currently, I am in France apparently. Wish I really could be on vacation!

I've had trouble here in CT, too. I reverted to relying on my Garmin wrist GPS/heart monitor, which is incredibly accurate.
  • I've had troubles with my gps in the past. I did a hard reset and it fixed the problem. It's a pain doing the hard reset because you have to remember all the cool apps you put on the phone. Takes forever to get all those programs back on the phone.

I'd try the reset if you are having problems.

To do a hard reset, go to: settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset

The factory data reset may be located else where on your phone.

I like the droid but I do run into problems every so often. It's a company phone so I can't really complain.

I wouldn't do the hard reset in this case. I talked to them this morning it is an issue stemming from the recent Google Maps update and it is affecting HTC phones, mainly in NYS. Even the VZW and HTC guys said don't bother hard resetting and they are usually always telling me to do that! There is an update to fix the bug in the works and Android 2.3 is also being released soon. Still going to switch to iPhone though because this app and many others I use are just better on the iPhone.

I had problems with my Nexus One when it updated to Gingerbread, but Sportstracklive (the app I use) soon fixed the issue and now it runs perfectly.

My GPS tells me I'm in Spain, near Zaragosa. Yesterday I was in Gazost, France. Thanks for the head's up!

I seem to have solved it by un-installing the upgrades on Google Maps.
