In Texas it's still too hot to workout outside. Fall means temperatures may finally fall below 100! and we finally get to go outside to workout.

This really isn't helpful at all, but I can't not post it. Just use it as an exercise video!

I'm looking forward to cooler day! But can't help you with any fun workouts - other than the exercise channel on your cable or DVD's. I wish I had a Wii because it looks like a ton of fun but I'd have to take it to a room where I could be alone because I really don't enjoy others (in my house) watching while I work out. Good luck!!

I was thinking of this myself the other day... I may get a winter membership at a local gym, and I have a bunch of exercise DVD's to do- few Jillian Michaels, a yoga disc and some pilates. Will be time to dust them off! Maybe some Turbojam or TurboFire... But still biking and doing C25K as long as I can, though!

    LOL @ previous poster...
Do you belong to a gym? that's kindda a given then, cause the indoor workouts are limitless there...
But if you're talking about just some at home workouts....Try boxing! :-)
You can put a stand up boxing post in your garage or spare room...all you'll need is a jump rope and some gloves...
Start out with marching in place, side steps, lunges and squats to warm yourself up, then start boxing...doesn't matter what you do or what you look like! Just moving for 30-60 min. is a workout enough. Then jump some rope, etc...
You can always rent videos to do.
I do a step aerobics video in the winter...The Firm workout...LOVE it, but it's too quick, so I try to add a few more minutes to it.
If you REALLY want a tough workout, do the P90X videos. WHEW. KILLER. They have some equipment that you keep in your home that makes it easy to just do the video...NOT an easy video to do though. haha
You could honestly walk laps around your living room and it'd be a workout. LOL :-) The key is to MOVE for an hour (or whatever you want to do) and as long as the heart is pumping, the calories are burning...P.S. Putting on some Itunes and Dancing is ALWAYS fun and is good cardio! :-)

I'm still going running, unless it's icy otherwise it would be more like skating and probably not a good idea! And deep snow would be a problem, but as I live in England, apart from a couple of weeks of the year the snow shouldn't be a problem. Now the rain, on the other hand..... I don't really care about the weather as long as it's safe and not too hot!

I also do karate. Martial arts are great for fat burning, fitness and for strengthening and toning those muscles, especially your core. It's also great for stress! You can imagine all sorts of people's faces while you're punching and kicking into the air, doing pad work and sparring

There is this new workout called Sexorcise! It is a lot of fun, and very easy to stay motivated to keep doing it!

Like others in Texas, yeah, we hibernate during the summer unless you want to appear on the 6 o'clock news, "Lady dies from heat stroke, what kind of idiot runs at 5pms in 108 weather?!, more news after this break."

Anyways, um try 30day shred and workout videos?

Michelle, if hot monkey sex is not an option, I would seriously consider P90X...it is the single best thing I have done for my fitness journey...43 pounds lost in less than 5 months...inches lost....muscle definition...stamina....flexibility...heart and lung capacity...the whole enchilada. You are the perfect candidate to rock it, too, darlin'...

    Good luck!

    BOOO to going inside.

IMHO running, and hiking are better in the winter when it isn't as hot. In the winter I run on my lunch break so I don't have to go out in the dark after work. (the dark makes me scared)

Of course the winter brings snowboarding, and snowshowing which are both a wicked calorie burn not to mention tons of fun.

For those days when I just dont' wanna go outside.
    p90X
    Insanity cardio
and the trusty punching bag should do the trick

I to miss the bike in the winter :( but that just makes it more fun in the spring

Do you not have a training stand for your bike? If not, get one! I'm fortunate that I can plan on riding all year, just have to dress a little warmer with high visibility clothes for the winter fog. I'm considering recording a couple of my rides on video so I can watch it while I ride the trainer and pretend it's a nice day outside this winter.
