Ok to the one's that have checked in could you send me your wrist & forearm measurement?? I am going to have all of our starting percents to have a more accurate account of how our body is changing.....I just added it to the check in form.....Love you guys!!

Just submitted my measurements. are we going to have to measure every week or just at the beginning and end of the challenge?

the wrist and forearm will be every week and I will be adding other measurements as an option.....it was about half and half on the other measurements so Im just going to add it to the form as an option :)

the reason for this is so I can calculate body fat percentages for the 4 weeks......
  • Thanks! When I saw Alceid naked on True Blood- I was pretty sure it would count :-)

Shopping today- already pretty good w reading labels- My 6 year old son and I always read cereal labels together- the deal is I'll buy any cereal w out high fructose corn syrup and below 6g of sugar.

I'll do the fitness challenge every day- gotta get some weights though- I used quart jars of home made sauce yest! haha. Any suggestion on weight of weights?

lol...Im gonna have to look that movie up :).....good job with the deal you have worked out with you son..Im gonna have to try that.
The weights that I use is 3lbs and that is because that is what I have from my 30 day shred pack...My hubby has bigger ones so I will have them handy to see if I can use them....he used those metal ones from walmart....another idea is you can use milk jugs...just weigh them on a scale that way you know how much you are lifting (Im such a miser when it comes to buying stuff) lol

Ah I love True Blood, it's a toss up between Eric and Alcide for me, either would do nicely

•An Exercise Challenge - I just bought some 2 lb dumbbells to add to my run in the morning. This is currently my fourth day on weight lose challenge and seem to being feeling better. I run each morning and it give me a lot of energy throughout the day.

•A Nutrition Challenge - All I ever do is look at the calories. I also try to get food that looks good to me, not just because its low in calories. I've been trying a lot of different healthy choice options, but noticed they are high in sodium. If anyone has some good meals that are low in calories and low in sodium, please let me know.

•A Mind/Body Challenge - I get 15 minutes to myself, with no cell phones, kid, or husband. I find it really relaxing to take time from everyone and just listen to my ipod. Very relaxing.

hey all, i'm going to take my measurements in a second, when i can get the boy to help me :)

Fitness - Just about to do this, i normally just do exercise videos which is mainly cardio so this will be a nice change/addition.

Mind/body - Sadly we've only got a shower in our house, no bath tub. Instead i'm going to put on a face mask and watch new zealand's next top model tonight :)

Nutrition - I'm definately gonna be focussing on this when I do my food shop this week. I focus so much on calories that sometimes I eat hardly anything but its really fattening things.

Oh and if anyone wants to add me that'd be great. It's always nice to meet new people :)

Hello team! Just wanted to check in - I've already posted my weekly weigh in/measurements. As far as the challenge goes:

Fitness - I'll do these later when I get home

Dietary - I too focus way too much on the calories; I need to pay more attention to sodium especially.

Mind/Body - Well - I am in dire need of a mani/pedi; it was supposed to be my reward for reaching the 160's and I haven't done it yet. So will do that this weekend!

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Did the rows!

I just finished the rows too.
I think I am going to take take jls's advice and shut off my phone later for atleast 30 minutes. Uninterupted time. I will have to do it before my daughter gets home from school. If the school needs to call for whatever strange reason, they can call my husband's phone.

I love bhurley's mani/pedi idea. I would love to get my hair colored for fall. I think that will be my reward when I get to 150.

I love watching America's Next top model. I love Tyra BAnks! I watch reruns and DVR new ones all the time. I even watch episodes when I've already seen them! I will add you as a friend!

Fitness challenge: Easy, I realized it was part of my normal daily routine! I recently graduated to 1.5 kilo weights from 1 kilo weights, so definitely feeling the burn!

Nutrition challenge: I have always read labels! My mother instilled that into me as a child. Of course, when you live in a foreign countries, you end up with nutritional info in a few languages, so that can get interesting!

Mind/body/spirit challenge: I take time for myself every day, usually reading a book or doing something else relaxing!

Mel that's funny about reading the labels, esp in dif. languages. My daughter is 7 and I have taught her to read the labels. Its never too early to start!

Did my rows too. My time for myself is walking the dog after the kids are in bed - half an hour of peace and quiet - ahhh bliss!

I too always read labels - I like to know what is in my food and usually cook everything from scratch. My food intake today has not been the best - ended up being out of the house unexpectedly until 4.30pm with no food - by 6.00pm I had only consumed 98 calories -2 x go ahead snacks - not conducive to good eating habits. I had quiche, salad and oven chips for dinner and am still under my 1200 must eat calories! Add to that a lot of exercise and I think I need to eat something else before I finish my food diary today. Maybe some low fat yogurt and fruit.

I'm excited to get started tonight after work! I did my measurements last night and this morning and I'll fill out the form when I get home. I'm very excited because I hadn't realized I've lost inches already and a bit more weight! I think this challenge will really help me out!

    Bombshell Betty’s!!
•An Exercise Challenge: I did the exercise rows after a took a nap( both kids were napping woohoo!! )

•A Nutrition Challenge : Ever since joining MFP I read labels constantly. My husband is on a low sugar/carbs diet thing but I don’t think it’s the healthiest way to go. The things he eats are soo high in fat and calories. I will allow in my calorie count my one cookie, or my handful of pretzel goldfish a day to satisfy my cravings. I feel like MFP is not another fad diet like those I have tried in the past but a different way of looking at food, being accountable and not feeling guilty for those SMALL food rewards I give myself. :D

•A Mind/Body Challenge : My fav thing to do is after a very long day is taking a hot bath while reading a book. Its me time that I get so this week’s mind/body challenge is a no brainer for me :D

This challenge is one I can do. The exercise is one I do and I am a label reader. My kids don't go back to school for 2 weeks, so relaxation probably won't happen.

I did my exercise challenge for the night - it seemed to easy. Think I might have to get heavier weights or use my resistance bands.
  • So, I had no idea this had started. I thought we were getting emailed or something. Oh well. I just messaged my partner.

    I don't measure those. . .
  • Ok, well went to the gym already before I saw the exercise challenge, but I did all upper body today, so I guess it evens out.

I'm already a label reader, so no problem there. I don't eat a lot of processed foods, and I don't add a lot of salt to my food.

Unfortunately, my bath tub is not functional. I'll figure out another way to please myself, um, I mean, yeah. . .

Rows completed! I also thought they were a bit too easy but I'm only using 2lb weights, think I'll just do more sets tomorrow.

I had a nice loonng hot shower this evening, not my usual quick-in-a-hurry-late-to-go type and it was lovely and relaxing and I had meant to get an early night but it's already 11:36... so gonna switch off now.

    Night all! xx
