Ever have people tell you how fat you WERE

Hey everyone...so I have lost several inches recently since I have been working out a lot and some people have noticed. I was NOT overweight before. I was at a healthy BMI of 23 and ate very healthy foods- I just upped my activity level and took out a few more foods to really take off a few pounds.
So the thing is that the most common compliment I get from family, coworkers, and friends is "oh you look great, you have really lost a lot of weight. You were looking really BIG there for a while." This makes me so angry because I was not even overweight before! Not to mention, these same people never had the nerve to say anything until I lost some weight. Hello! I am still the same girl.
So irritating...

Weird how people think it's appropriate to talk about ANYONE'S body. My mother always said not to make personal remarks.0

Never underestimate the insensitivity of some people. I find it's best to move on and not let other people's stupidity bring you down. If you are feeling good about yourself then that is your just reward.0

My husbands family says "there was a really really fat huge big guy .... oh about your size." The thing is he has a smallest waist size than any one in his family.0

Yes! My husband and I have both lost significant amounts of weight using mfp. The other day, someone said that we used to be like tweedledee and tweedledum walking around. I just have to laugh when someone makes a comment like that, as they are the ones who should be embarrassed by such comments.0

Agreed, it didn't bother me the first few times, but then I just kept hearing it. With time I will hopefully learn to let these things go a little better.
I think it also bothers me because I still feel like the same person and when someone insults what I looked like 2 months ago I feel like they are insulting me now. Also, I do not see it as unlikely that I will be that weight again someday considering it was not that high.0 -

Oh man, that would get my fire burning!0 -

I agree. That 100% reflects negatively on them... Not you!
I'm sorry you are getting such insensitive "compliments" it's really not okay at all.0 -
when my Aunt saw me for the first time since I started loosing weight, she says "omg your so skinny, you got HUGE.
I didn't really know what to say, but now every time my family sees me they are like wow you look great or they tell me how big I was before, like I really didn't know I was that big, I KNEW IT but being pregnant there wasn't much I could do about it anyway0
