Hi everyone,

This is my first topic so apologies for any beginners mistakes. I'm currently at 175 pounds and have lost 5 pounds since using MFP over the past few weeks. The thing is, I would like to lose an extra 5-10 pounds over the next couple of months at the very latest and wanted to ask if anyone knew the recommended amount of calories I should be eating for someone of my size? I'm 20 years old, and usually spend at least an hour everyday walking, or doing some other kind of exercise.

Many Thanks!

You should be able to go under Settings, Update Diet/Fitness Profile and put in your info. It allows you to plug in your weight, etc. and how much you want to lose. Let me know if this doesn't work for you...

I would follow MFP's guidelines, but make sure you have the correct weekly goal given your stats and end goal. If your goal is to lose only 5-10 lbs in total, I would suggest changing your weekly loss goal to 0.5lbs/week. A smaller deficit is recommended when you don't have much to lose. This helps avoid you losing much muscle as you lose the last few lbs of fat and helps you get ready for maintenance caloric intake.

I have been maintaining for the past 3 years, and only had about 10 to lose in the first place.
