I know I am older but I am perpexed by the current texting "shorthand" that the young folk use these days. Seems harder to type "laterz" than to just type "laters" to me but I guess I don't think in Zs.

keyboard phone all keys no spell check lol and because u get used to texting things a certain way so then you do it automatically without looking at the keyboard. Its on purpose really i guess just because. (as you can see i can spell if i decide i want to)(aside from hitting the wrong button of course) the whole spelling wrong is just habit on a phone now. also my phone has auto correct and predict so sometimes it puts in the words and it is a whole lot easier to leave them. for example i had to turn it off to text this or it would have been all wrong too lol
