Eat after a workout?

I eat dinner, wait an hour and then go for a walk. I usually walk 60 minutes to 90 minutes. When I come home, I am starving. I was eating popcorn popped in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and that seemed to work, until someone told me that they use corn to fatten up cattle. So, I did a protein shake, but was still hungry. I don't know what my problem is.

You should eat within 45minutes of excercise, so workout first cardio will just make you hungy!0

the problem is possibly coming from what you eat before you work out.
try complex carbs with a low GI, and some protein.
corn is technically a grain, not a veg. and is very high in fiber.so maybe thats why it keeps you hungry.0 -
I'm not sure I understand the connection between you eating popcorn and corn being used to fatten up cattle. Eating corn (or popcorn) will not make you fat. Consuming more calories than you expend (over a long period of time) will make you fat. ...so go ahead and eat your popcorn!
Alternatively, you could perhaps add things like fruit (bananas work well) to your protein shake to make them more filling. I sometimes like to have a rice cake with peanut butter and some sliced banana after a workout. Good luck!0 -
Why is it a problem that they use corn to fatten up cattle? If you enjoyed the popcorn, eat popcorn!0
