I've never had it before and I bought a big thing of Fage 0% at Costco and it was absolutely DISGUSTING by itself. I mixed it with milk and strawberries but I need more low sugar low cal ideas. Help!

Honey. That's my secret to plain Greek Yogurt. It needs something to it, because I agree, it's disgusting alone. The Dannon/Oikos brand is good for the blueberry and strawberry flavored versions, as well, but I totally love adding honey, or getting the premeasured cups with the honey already in it.

Was it plain? That might not be why you like it. I hear a lot of people mix granola with it or use it in smoothies.

Greek yogurt has a nice creamy texture but I wouldn't eat it plain. A little honey or agave or whatever plus some banana or berries.

Definitely use it in smoothies, or add a packet of stevia to it. Beware of the fruit added varieties, they are loaded with sugars.

Or sweeten it with a touch of Stevia.

oh, I forgot to mention: a friend of mine made some creamsicle-type of popsicles for her daughters using orange juice and greek yogurt. They didn't get sweet enough because she didn't follow the recipe right, but they were really good!!!

I mix in some cinamon and a tiny bit of honey - then use it as a dip for apples. yum! but yeah - the plain is just gross :(

I love this yogurt. I have it nearly every morning. This is my recipe:

    130 grams yogurt
    20 grams granola
    50 grams fresh blueberries
    5 fresh strawberries
    1 tsp agave nectar

Also, I'll use this yogurt instead of sour cream and I'll mix it with my favourite Ranch salad dressing to cut the calories. I can't find light ranch dressing in the UK!

It's definitely better to sweeten your own yogurt than to buy one with added sweetener.

I eat Dannon Greek Yogurt with fruit on the bottom every morning. I LOVE the strawberry! And Blueberry is good too. I tried the brand you mentioned once with strawberry and some other fruit, but Dannon is still my favorite!
  • The first time I tried Greek yogurt, it was plain. Needless to say, I was less than impressed. However, I now eat it on a daily basis! Some ways that I eat it are with cinnamon, honey, and walnuts; with honey and fresh berries; or with peanut butter (in vanilla-flavoured Greek yogurt). Next time you buy Greek yogurt, try looking for either the vanilla or honey flavour. Although there is added sugar to make it flavoured, it's absolutely delicious all by itself.
