Definitely talk with your dr. Also, a physical therapist can help with exercises to injured areas - it helps with my back. I have a bulging disk but the physical therapist gave me exercises to do to help it as well as get in shape.

Do you have access to a pool? Water activity might be an option. If not, try focusing on core training. Crunches, leg lifts, etc. Hope the ankle heals quickly.

definitely consider going to the doctor's office and physical therapy. I seriously sprained my ankle a few months ago when my hands were full and I missed the last two steps. The equipment used by physical therapist greatly increased the rate of healing. The strengthening and stretching got me back to my workout pretty quickly. Physical therapists will also give you ideas on alternate exercises while you are mending and recommendations to keep you injury free. Good luck!
  • thank you for all of these great suggestions...made the appointment, dr. tomorrow:)
