What do you work out in?

i wore big old baggy tracksuit bottoms (3/4 length) and maternity tops that were really baggy.
now i've lost weight, i wear leggins, because they sit up higher and cover my tummy, so that when my top rises a bit from certain exercises, my tummy doesn't pop out. but i'm still wearing big baggy t-shirts because i'm not happy enough with my tummy just yet, and nothing grosses me out more than if my stretch marked saggy tummy accidentally slips into view of the whole gym while i'm stretching or doing burpees or something.
a few more kg lost and i'll be able to get some nicer tops surely!0 -
Lycra Capri bottoms (most the time), Lycra top (or dryfit, climalite, whatever you wanna call it), sports bra
socks and trainers
Gloves when doing weights.
Used to be old bottoms and tops, but they got too warm and actually reduced what I got out of the work out.
I learnt the importance of a good sports bra during high intensity cardio sessions, rather quickly.0 -
as much clothing as possible, lol.
guys at the gym are really REALLY creepy.
the other day i saw a girl on the stair stepper and this dude was just standing behind her watching. no thanks.

When I first started losing weight, I was in a different cultural setting which meant I had to work out in dresses (believe it or not...Amish/Mennonite thingy). Later when I lost a significant amount of weight and left that cultural/religious setting, I started wearing long exercise pants that were loose but had some stretch to them as I felt "athletic" in them and paired it with whatever loose long sleeved top I could get to go below my stomach. (I had a LOT of weight to lose...about 1/2 my body weight needed to come off)
Later, after I got to goal weight, my work-outs were way more intense and sweaty messes for sure. So I needed to switch for my own comfort. I now wear skin tight water-wicking bicycle type capris or leggings with a water-wicking top with a 3/4 sleeve (that's what I feel good in). This type of thing works well for my cardio Kickboxing class, my 5K's...even my 60 mile trek for breast cancer. I like my tops a bit looser for movement. Instead of going for style...I'm going for comfort and COLOR! Certain colors make me feel energetic or "cute" rather than the style. So it's hot pink, peacock blue, purple, black and white for me. I still like my tops "longish" (call it a throw-back from my old Amish/Mennonite days and my husband is usually sweating away with me in the same room and if I'm wearing anything too form revealing...he's making eyes at me and stuff and I can't concentrate!)
I like the new stuff but honestly...I'm not going for fashion but fitness. If all I have is some loose yoga pants (which I LOVE) and one of my husband's t-shirts (I feel sexy in his shirts...for some reason...) then that's what I'll do!
Don't think about wearing what anybody else is...or emulating any other "fashion". Wear what you feel good in and ENJOY the workout! You are definitely ROCKING with the Zumba thingy and have something to be proud of! You go, girl!!0 -
Just wondering what people are wearing to work out in... I find that in my Zumba classes I'm usually one of the biggest people in the room, and I'm jealous of the cute little Lycra outfits everyone has on, but ALAS, they don't fit me (yet!). I wear stretchy yoga-style capri pants and usually just an old tee, but want ideas from others on workout attire for chubby bunnies. Maybe if I feel like I look better in a workout outfit, I won't care how bad I mess up the Zumba steps!
Thanks

Depends on what class I teach or if I have clients. With clients it's usually a dry fit black T shirt and shorts. If it's class like kickboxing, I wear compression shorts and tank top.0

I wear Eastern Mountain Sports(EMS) "Techwick" shirts. They wick away the moisture and you feel 10 degrees cooler when you have it on.
My shorts are simple Hanes sweat shorts.
I wear lowcut socks and Nike running sneakers.0
