I am coming very close to breaking down and buying a treadmill (unless advised of a better machine). I am looking to spend no more than $400 and hoping its a decent buy. Looking for any and all advice on what people have and are happy with.
Thank you in advance :-)

I have a Nordictrack that I got from Sear's and I love it. I think we spent $300 on it.
  • I have a Horizon Fitness T90 and I love it. I have had it for about 3 years now and it still runs perfectly. When I decided to buy one I researched for a couple of weeks within my budget and this one had great reviews.
I can't find it on Amazon, I suspect because it's an older model now, but from what I have read, you can't go wrong with any of the Horizon models.
If you have a Play It Again Sports where you are, check there first. I got mine brand new for about $450.

We have a NordicTrack Commerical 1750 that we bought directly from their website (as Sears didn't have it) with iFit live & Google maps.

Sorry but ours cost more than $400. but we love it.......We can make our own maps to walk/run or do work out with Jillian Michaels as your trainer :-)

Prior to this new one we got at Christmas, we had owned a ProForm which was good too.

I probably can't help at the $400 mark. I bought one several years ago for closer to $1,500, but, it has lasted for ten years of constant use. My wife is a runner, and runs on it all winter, and I use it when I'm not at the gym.

No matter what you spend, find one with a motorized incline, variable speeds up to what you need, and with a cushioned track. Ensure the motor is heavy duty enough to last, and try it in the store if you can. $400 or $4,000, if you don't use it once you have it, it's worth $0.

    Good luck with your search!

Mine was a bit more than that, but a friend of mine bought a Gold's Gym model from Walmart.com and she really likes it. I believe they still sell them, and they are in your price range! :)
