Possibly a dumb question?

Ok this may seem like a dumb question...but here it goes anyway. I was over on my calories yesterday.....300 calories over (eeeek I know), today I am doing really well....with food and exercise. I still have a little over 400 calories left....so should I call it a day and not consume those calories because I went over my calorie goal yesterday? Seems logical no?

if ur hungry i would eat,,,you don't want your body to go into starvation mode like mine has..trust me it sucks!

Some people purposely change the amount of calories they eat every day. If you average out to the right amount of calories, that is fine.

Whatever happened yesterday is in the past. If your not hungry don’t eat. If you want a snack eat it! Mybe some almonds?

I try to never eat under 1200 calories net. If you're under that, you should probably eat back some calories. If not, I wouldn't think being under 400 for 1 day would hurt, unless you get really hungry later.

When I hit a plateau I would do that. Go over one day and then stay under the next which would spike my metabolism. It was very effective. So if you feel comfortable doing that then I would say go right ahead. It's safe.

I agree with everyone else...if you're hungry go ahead and eat. Otherwise, leave them be. Yesterday I struggled to stay below my calories. But today I've only eaten 1100 calories and I burned over 200 calories working out so I'm only netting over 800 calories for the day. I don't do this very often so I doubt I'll go into starvation mode but instead I figure it will all work itself out.
  • very helpful! Thanks folks! Not hungry yet...just finished supper. I guess I was really just wondering if I could have a snack later hahaha No but really, I wanted to be mindful of my weekly calories and exercise.
