Is there such a thing?

I have zero motivation. I know I'm overweight and dont like my body. I try and eat better but I find it really doesnt get me anywhere unless I obsess over it. I mean OBSESS. Live, breathe, dream calorie counting.

I'm sure there are underlying issues, which I dont really want to get into at the moment.

I have previously gone to therapy and I'm pretty sure that it would help... I just dont have the time/money for it (and if we're being completely honest, I dont have a strong desire to go). A previous employer had paid for us to have a life coach that we'd talk to over the phone. I was wondering if there was such a thing online?

I guess I'd even be willing to pay for it.

When you mentioned that you don't have a strong desire to do so, I thinked you summed up the problem. You will need to be completely focused and have a strong desire to achieve what you want in life.

I normally say to people that ask me what is the secret to my weight loss that its all the 3 D's

    Have a look here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/fastbelly/view/what-are-you-doing-to-lose-so-much-weight-140485

Not to be mean hon, but you kinda need to want it in order to be motivated to keep going, it has to be worth the time and the money to you.....at least it would help :-). I'm pretty sure you can have online life coaches, maybe even therapists in some cases would be willing to work with you.

Think about giving therapy a chance again. A lot of us have found that we have issues that are deeper than whether or not we are motivated. There are reasons we make bad choices, don't feel motivated, don't stick wtih therapy, have obsessions, etc...you name it - we learned it somewhere and what we learned probably helped us cope with something in some way at some time...unfortunately we keep on doing what we learned, whether or not it serves us well....therapy is such a hard thing to do because we basically go in without guarantees and timelines...and usually when our buttons are getting pushed or we are getting close to figuring something out, our inner self kicks in and makes us not feel like going anymore! Ugh!

I read something somewhere that said "Don't wait for motivation. Start doing it and the motivation will come." I thought that was pretty good :-).

You can probably do some searches for "online life coach" etc...but i would bet you will have to pay. Remember there are people/places that base fees on a sliding scale of what you can afford, so perhaps that will help. Another thing you might want to try is books - there are some great books and workbooks out there to help people figure out their stuff and amazon usually has great prices on the used ones....check out workbooks on feelings, behavior therapy, motivation, etc....

The motivation comes from within...Believe me, it takes a lot of motivation....You have to have the mindset to do this.... You have the desire to do this...But it sounds like you dont have the motivation or discipline yet. Its all within you... You have to want this for you...Not for someone else, you!
I will quote you here: "I try and eat better but I find it really doesnt get me anywhere unless I obsess over it. I mean OBSESS. Live, breathe, dream calorie counting.". When you start out, you kinda HAVE TO obsess over it. It has to become a habit...You have to, like you said, live, eat & breath it, at least in the beginning. it gets better and it does get easier..but you really have to want this bad enough..Its easy to say, but you results will be in your actions to change you life forever.

Well sometimes i think if i waited on motivation to do something then i will be wiaiting a long time.
I know i want to be healthy I know i want to lose weight so I put one foot in front of the other.
Even if i feel like it or not.
I cannot wait on motivation per say to do it. I sometimes start off with say i am gonna do a little walk today and i give myself ten minutes of walking, before you know it im feeling better, then my walk ends up beign alot longer and then other time i actualy take off jogging, But I have to make myself do it. So I guess what im saying is it does come from within. If we wait for it motivation isnt going to slap you in the face really.
Same with eating if i exercise I make sure i dont blow it with food because it was so hard to get going in the first place i dotn want to counteract my exercise i just did.
When you do something for at least 6 weeks even if you dont feel like it, it becomes a habit and a part of you. At least this is how it is for me.
