Come again...I don't understand your question.
Is it that you are dealing with such a slow metabolism that you are not losing weight? If so, then resistance training helps because muscles burn more calories than fat. Cardio will speed up your metabolism -but you have to commit to at least 25 minutes a day for 5 or 6 days a week. Also, you may need some supplements to help with your energy. Check your diet. Too much sugar can make you feel sluggish. I'm sure there is more to your intended question though I don't understand what it is.0 -
not sure i just take it 1 meal, 1 day, 1lb at a time, im not here trying to get a quick fix, i know that cardio is suppose to help rev that metabolism back up, and i think cinamon helps with insulin which helps with metabolism..not sure on the latter though..good luck!!!0

That depends on a lot of factors. For example, what is slowing your metabolism down in the first place? Is it a medical issue? Have you discussed this with a nutritional counselor to see exactly what is slowing you down? Are you eating foods that negatively effect your body's processes? You need more information before you can determine the "why".0

I agree. Your metabolism can be affected by everything from your genetics to your reproductive cycle to how much sleep you're getting to the altitude and humidity where you live. When you say "revved back up," it would be helpful for us to know what you think was affecting it negatively in the first place, if you don't mind sharing, before we try to offer advice.0 -
Were you under-eating and now trying to get to a normal daily calorie count? Some say to just start eating your sedentary calories and start exercising. I started eating 1200 calories net then upped then upped them whenever I noticed I was getting hungry. I was coming from a 600-900 net diet. I got them up to 1590 net (my goal weight maintenance calories) and stayed there for a while, and now I'm back down to 1350 and seeing results. I didn't gain more than a pound, luckily, but it took a while for the weight to start coming off. I think if I'd just kept at 1350 to start I wouldn't have gotten my metabolism to the point where it was 'normal'. Only a personal experience, but maybe it'll help. You can also listen to the fat2fitradio.com podcasts-they have a lot of information on this.0

Yes, I am coming from not eating enough to eating 1200. I haven' t noticed anything but weight gain (I was just a little over what a healthy weight for me was before I started MFP) I think I just need to continue eating the right amount and things will get back in order last thing. Do ur stomachs ever growl, or do u avoid that?0

Go for a 15-30 minute walk to get your body moving. Even a little exercise goes a long ways into getting the metabolism to get going.0
