Hydration...

I hate carrying a water bottle when I run. It feels distracting. But since I've been training for this run, and doing long runs, I find myself getting dehydrated. What suggestions do you experienced runners have for me? I'm working on really drinking water all day long so that I am hydrated from the start. And I get a drink if I come upon fountains, but there are only a couple on the path I run. I actually ran down to the river and scooped some water tonight! It was so refreshing! Oregon water is yummy! lol
I saw a couple people carrying these small bottles that have a hand strap, that seemed pretty easy to carry. I am going to look into those. Does anyone know what or where they are? Or something similar? Thanks...
OH! Also, how about this new Gatorade system? Does anyone use that? How well does it work?

We have 'camel sacks' here in AUS - it's a backpack with a built in water pouch that has a straw that comes up and over your shoulder. Could you get something like that?0

You can get fanny pack type things that evenly distribute the weight of about 4 mini water bottles so they don't hinder your run0

For short runs I have used a Nathan Sprint. Pretty small amount of water, and the bottle and carrier is designed so you don't have to grip it for it to stay in your hand. They make a lot of other products such as the bottle belts mentioned by others.

Now that it's hotter out and I'm running farther and trail running, I've been using a Camelbak Octane LR. It's got a 70 oz lumbar reservoir that doesn't bounce and shift as much as a regular back reservoir. Plus it's got room to carry other stuff you might need.

Thanks guys! I have actually seen the camelbak(?), infact one tonight on a biker. I am always afraid one of those will make me even hotter than I already am. Or does it help you stay cooler because its cold? I checked out that Nathan bottle, that looks very similar to the ones I saw. I think that might be the way to go. I don't want to drink a lot because it makes me feel a little ill to have much in my belly. But it will be enough to keep my hydrated, and I can refill them at the fountains I come across. Thanks for the help!
What about the gatorade fit series? Anyone? I tried one of the 02 Perform drinks tonight after my run, it was pretty good and I feel fine. Not like last time, I was seriously dehydrated. But I didn't drink much water through out the day. My fault. I learned my lesson! haha I never want to feel that way again.0
