Losing too fast

Hi All

I have my weight loss target set to a pound a week and I am eating back any exercise calories, however it seems that as soon as I am sensible with my eating (as apposed to eating what I like when I like) the weight falls off, in the first 8 days of doing it this time round I have lost 5 pounds. Should I increase my calories to slow down the loss or is it likely that I am just getting rid of the easy bit and after a week or two it will settle down ?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

For me, I always lose like 10 lbs the first week. I am assuming its just water weight. After the first 2 weeks my weight loss becomes slower and consistant with about 8 lbs lost a month.

It will slow down. At first, alot of water weight comes off. Embrace it :)

congrats on the 5lbs! if you're eating healthily, and you aren't feelin exhausted (from lack of food) then you're probably just really lucky to be shedding that fast. :) it may slow down after a while, when your body feels like it's "lost enough" weight.. which just means your body will plateau.

If it continues after 3 weeks, then yes, increase your calorie intake. But it is common for people to lose weight rapidly in the beginning. It should taper off.
